Might want to look at the first couple plays from this compilation before getting your hopes up.
He has WRs streaking wide open and checks down...then at 1:10 he has a TE with no one within 20 yards...actually looks at him then checks down.
This was worse than Alex Smith ignoring Hill in 2016. There were missed TDs everywhere on that video...Jesus. The Falcons one was "special".
So no...no "next Gannon". Keesum is what he is...an $18m middle-of -the road- journeyman. His passer rating/INTs are inflated due to short, safe throws. You can see his lack or arm strength in those long passes. They are lobs with a lot of air under them...
Peyton Manning attending Broncos today. Distinguished guests keep on coming. He golfed with Tiger yesterday. Broncos now have their top 2 captains from SB 50 team -- Manning and DeMarcus Ware -- at practice today. #9sports
Case Keenum had the number 1 defense statistically, OL that gave up only 22 sacks, very good OC and weapons that included Theilen/Rudolph/Murray/McKinnon/Diggs.
He only threw 22 TD’s and 3,500 yards in that situation. That’s terrible. [Reply]
He led the NFL with 15 "inaccurate completions"...long contested passes that the WR had to fight to catch.
The video evidence I posted coupled with that glaring stat is the QB you are getting...Horseface is a moron. Vikings cut him loose for a reason... [Reply]

There isn't a QB with a weaker arm in the league. I watched him a few times and the dude just throws ducks all over the field.
Horseface has convinced that illiterate fanbase that he's an "ascending" QB. The tape says his excellent defense and Diggs ability to catch 50/50 passes (#1 in the NFL) repeatedly bailed him out.
If just half of those contested catches result in INTs, his stats/passer rating look a lot different. He wasn't throwing accurate dimes in tight spaces...he was lobbing it into traffic.
His arm strength is back-up level...and its obvious from the tape. It's why he didn't attempt to hit those streaking WRs....he physically couldn't. [Reply]

We'll see how it all works out, but DT was also right behind Diggs in that regard. Diggs caught 16 of 25 and DT caught 17 of 29. [Reply]

Keenum is more of a playmaker than Alex Smith.
The thing I like most about Keenum is how composed he is in the pocket and how slippery he can be when his protection breaks down. Alex always looked jittery to me when he was in the pocket. Like he just couldn't wait to get that ball out of his hands. [Reply]
