Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]
Yep and Jackson lol. The Guys are having a guys trip in Vegas at the Aria rn. I think Damien Williams is with them too but couldn’t tell from Kelces IG. Haha showed Pat paying for the room and everything [Reply]
Lot of overrated QB’s on this list that were nowhere near as talented as Pat.
Btw-in 2009 Peyton was the top paid guy and he went to the SB
Mahomes, Prescott and Brady may deserve top-tier contracts, but what do those contracts do to their teams?
Well ... the QB with the highest salary cap hit in the NFL has missed the playoffs in 8 of the last 10 seasons — and the only 2 to make it lost their first playoff game. pic.twitter.com/QjfsukXZmK

I remember before Mahomes was drafted, there were a lot of people comparing him to Stafford and Cutler. He blew right past that comparison with the MVP 50 TD/5000 yard season as a 23 year old. Then we get the Dan Marino comparison...well now he blew right past that comparison with a Super Bowl victory and Super Bowl MVP at age 24. Pretty epic start to his career, haha
I was never worried about Cutler because even though the physical comps are similar - Cutler clearly is a mental midget who has no idea who to lead people. You only had to listen to Mahomes for a few seconds to realize he's in a completely different universe than Cutler. [Reply]
I'm rewatching the game. Mahomes awareness in every situation just boggles my mind. It’s like he has some genetic defect where he’s immune to the fog of war. [Reply]

And I hope the same will be true with the Rodgers comparison as well. I think Mahomes has a far more positive attitude and better leadership qualities than Rodgers. We'll see if that means anything over the long haul.
Russell Wilson also has a far more positive attitude and better leadership qualities than Rodgers, but Wilson still only has the 1 ring from early in his career when Seattle was paying him chump change and they had an elite defense. Pete Carroll has screwed up roster management through the years.
Mahomes will need the KC front office to do a really good job in the draft and smart contracts with the players around him to avoid a Wilson or Rodgers type situation. Even if you give discount as a QB, there is no guarantee the front office takes proper advantage of this. See the Chiefs in 2018. Cap hit of $4M for a QB that throws 50 TD/5000 yards and they had one of the worst defenses of all-time. [Reply]
Yeah you pretty much have to nail the draft and pick up cheap free agents at Belichick levels to stay relevant.
We should get a decent amount of guys who want to play for a discount to get that ring. We have to be willing to let players like Jones and Watkins go - as painful as it is.
Breeland and Pennel are the two I really hope we keep. [Reply]

I love Pennel. That guy gave the Chiefs amazing value this season. If Jones is worth $20M and you could can get 4 guys to produce at Pennel's level across the defense for $5M each, that is worth letting Jones go. [Reply]

Yeah but Jones gets consistent pressure on the QB - which is rare for an interior D-Lineman.
However that Brett Kollman dude on twitter - who seems to be the best film analyst I've ever seen (he predicted all the Deebo Samuel action) - says Jones is still a liability in the run game. I dunno if he is or not. But I know there is no question that Aaron Donald is not a liability in the run game. [Reply]

Jones has what, like 24 sacks over the last two years. we can't let that get away. [Reply]
