Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]
So the Lions posted about Matt Stafford's birthday today and all the empty stats of his career. Those empty stats have led to 0 playoff wins.
I remember before Mahomes was drafted, there were a lot of people comparing him to Stafford and Cutler. He blew right past that comparison with the MVP 50 TD/5000 yard season as a 23 year old. Then we get the Dan Marino comparison...well now he blew right past that comparison with a Super Bowl victory and Super Bowl MVP at age 24. Pretty epic start to his career, haha [Reply]
On Thursday, we posted about this lifetime’s version of 65 Toss Power Trap: 2-3 Jet Chip Wasp.
It was the play quarterback Patrick Mahomes asked for with his Kansas City Chiefs facing third-and-15, down 10 points in fourth quarter to the San Francisco 49ers. You can watch Mahomes ask offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for the play in the viral video below (as of this writing, the video has 1.5 million views) [Reply]
Paying a QB that much money seriously reduces your chance of winning a super bowl. I saw somewhere that no team has ever won a super bowl if they were paying their QB more than 17% of the salary cap. I don't know if that's true or not, it still hurts a team with too much invested in a single player. [Reply]

Cost of doing business though. Cousins is $28M. Jimmy G (after 5 effing starts) had a $27.5M salary. Jared Goff is over $33M. The walking hospital Wentz is $32M. Dak Prescott turned down $33M and is demanding $35-40M. The baseline for a decent QB nowadays is about $30M at bare minimum. [Reply]
