Had an NFC Personnel executive tell me “He reminds me of J.J. Watt, when Watt was coming out. An explosive and versatile playmaker who has a high motor and can line up at 3,5, or 7. Very strong kid” #NFL#NFLDraftpic.twitter.com/5qM3g6OrMr
You just know that Spags has BJ Thompson on ice as a trump card. He's got a play or two ready for him like he did for Willie Gay in the Bengals game last year. [Reply]

Wide 9 with Chenal and BJ on the outside, Omenihu and Jones on the inside. [Reply]

5-2-4?
Jones can get pressure as a 0-tech and in that spot he'd almost certainly have to be doubled. So now you're talking rushers vs. 4 linemen.
FAU --- Karlaftis --- Jones --- Omenihu --- Chenal
Tranquill ---- Gay
McDuffie ----- Reid ------ Cook ----- Sneed
Tranquill and Reid are going to be the breaking points. But if they can hang on for just a second or maybe 2, that crew will get home. And if it's Chenal in the huddle, you're not even telegraphing it. You're essentially just looking like a base front and then you drop him down on the line.
Wouldn't do it against a Brady sort - he'll spot it pre-snap and get someone on a deep shot. But against about 3/4 of the league, that would cause all kinds of chaos.
You know where it might be interesting? SF - would Purdy make the right read? Would it force Kittle to come off the line late because he'd stay in to help?
I dunno - it could be cool or explode catastrophically. That's why I get to sit in my chair and suggest it. [Reply]

This would be wicked. Or send Chenal in as a late blitzer, where his speed can make up the difference. [Reply]

If Veach is able to keep Jones in the middle these next few years while Felix and Karl develop into the monsters they have the potential to be….
That constantly frees up these linebackers….speeds up coverages…
How do you beat us?
Please stop :-) they aren't going 18-1. This is why yiu guys lose your shit in close games thinking we're unbeatable and should blow everyone out. [Reply]
Karlaftis may be undervalued a bit, especially if the QB is kind of a statue. It seems like he's pretty good at getting pressures but just never gets as many sacks as most guys compared to the amount of pressures he gets. But the main goal is to get pressures to create an errant throw, hurry a throw or a bad decision. It doesn't necessarily have to be a sack. Mahomes just doesn't really take sacks even when he gets a ton of pressure whereas a guy like Burrow just eats em. Sacks are a QB stat. [Reply]

He had 6 sacks last year and has 1.5 already this year.
