The Chiefs have a weird mix of expensive, injury-prone vets, crap players, and young talent. Berry, Houston, Watkins, and Ford will make $50M next year and they've missed 47 games combined the past two years. KC missed their Super Bowl window and are going to have to rebuild.
and without them KC still won the division both years, now those players are back....uh oh [Reply]

Our SB window isn’t closed. It’s opening. Mahomes is what we think he is it should stay open for 10-15 years.
Overpaying QB’s nobody else wants is how you permanently close a SB window. That way of building a team has moved West. [Reply]

Our defense will be better than you think. Better than last year. It won't be top 10, but it won't be bottom 10 either. And with the offensive talent of this team, that should be good enough. Add a couple of good DB's next off-season, and this defense should be pretty good. [Reply]
John Elway has lost his Midas Touch. His post-Peyton quarterback plans have gone awry, while the Broncos’ championship-winning defense of 2015-16 has slowly been dismembered. Case Keenum is a Band-Aid under center. Both lines need talent infusions. The secondary is no longer all world. Absent another Manning falling into his lap, Elway lacks a quick fix. He recognized reality this spring, staying quiet in free agency while passing on quarterbacks he did not deem worthy of a top-five pick. Elway took pass rusher Bradley Chubb at No. 5 before using his Day 2 selections on a runner, receiver and corner. Maybe it’s not a full-on rebuild, but the revamp has begun in earnest on both sides of the ball. It could be a lengthy process but it’s what Elway needed to do.
