Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

They stretched some things to make it look not as bad, but they didn’t act like Trubisky could get to where Mahomes is, IMO.
I see a lot of parallels between Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith, actually. With the parts being obvious.
Mahomes is the first QB in NFL history to throw for over 9,000 yards and 75 touchdowns in his first 30 games.
Mahomes is 23 and 7 in games he has started. Beat Denver 5 times, has 109.5 QBR and 65.9 Comp%
He needs 312 yards to Pass Matt Cassel who torched defenses for 9,549 yards in 48 games. Mahomes could pass him in 31.
If Mahomes throws for his average this week- he will be the first NFL QB with 9,500 yards in 31 games another NFL record to add to his long list. [Reply]
They asked him about it MANY times in the post game presser, he did a pretty good job of not saying anything. I was surprised, they kept on asking him about it. He handled that pretty well. [Reply]

Patrick is reason 1A why you should feel great heading into the playoffs. Yes the defense is playing beyond any preseason expectations, but in an injury riddled season, we finally got the MVP back. Two weeks in a row of looking like himself.
Maybe better actually as he’s added an element to his game where he is just taking whatever is given from the defense. He’s been as efficient as ever the past couple weeks considering. [Reply]

Uh didn’t think that one through Collinsworth. I can think of one team that did :-)
Chris Collinsworth doesn't believe that. That was lip service so certain types of Bears fans wont feel bad...on a night in which it seemed like the entire broadcast was aimed at making Bears fans feel bad. [Reply]

My boss is a Tech grad and a Bears fan. I don’t envy his situation knowing the Bears completely blew it. I am convinced they would have won the championship last year with Patrick. That Chicago defense was phenomenal last year. [Reply]

It is kind of hard to not talk about the white elephant in the stadium (trade up for Tribs) when Chiefs fans were holding signs that read, "Should have drafted Mahomes!" on the front row. :-) [Reply]

Bears fans on Reddit are trying to convince themselves that Mahomes wouldn't be as good if drafted by John Fox. They say it's the weapons Mahomes has (he's throwing to a wide open Hill and Kelce) and Andy Reid's system.
Whatever helps you sleep through the night, I guess. :-) [Reply]
Anyone have a subscription to the Star? Mellinger wrote an article talking about Mahomes celebration and has teammates reaction. I’m not paying for one article for a piece of shit newspaper [Reply]

This narrative drives me crazy. Mahomes was injured and he wasn't his best. But even not close to his best, he was still having an MVP caliber season with Demarcus Robinson as his #1 wideout. And with 4 OL at one point who might not start for most teams in the league. And with one of the leagues worst running games. All while carrying a miserable defense on his back.
But yeah, mahomes is a product of the system. [Reply]

It wasn't so much of a "product of a system" thing as it was reaching his potential quickly with Reid where Fox would have held him back and maybe "ruined" him. I think talent will still show through, though, and Trubisky wasn't ruined; he just isn't very good. [Reply]
