Judging a GM solely on wins is just as silly as doing it with a QB. I judge a GM based on his work in personnel, where Dorsey kicks Elway's ass. Signing a HOF QB when you have the benefit of being a member of the QB fraternity, and getting a bargain on a few defensive studs because of it, doesn't make you a great personnel guy. Dorsey is a personnel guy through and through while Elway has always been learning on the job in that regard, hence his below average drafts over the last few years.
You can sit there and try to paint me as CP's KnowMo all you want, but there's actual logic being applied in my case. If I were a blind homer I wouldn't have been on the draft a QB in the 1st bandwagon the moment our season ended. [Reply]

Elway is 17-15 without a HOF QB. Dorsey is 43-21 without a HOF QB. Elway is worse at drafting than Pioli. In 4 years, Dorsey has drafted 3 all-pro's, a double-digit sack artist and a DL that was among the best interior pass rushers as a rookie.
