I'd like to think this may have some sway with the selection committee assholes, but it probably won't. [Reply]

100% correct. We had people suggesting that if Cook started at QB, Drink should be fired. I'm not kidding.
It's as though some folks refuse to understand that 1) players can and do improve, and 2) coaches know FAR more about our players and are going to play the guys that give us the best shot at winning. They do the same ignorant nonsense with the Chiefs and it's just as mind-numbingly stupid then.
I'll never understand the need to rush to be the first to proclaim someone a bust. [Reply]
Rumors are that Etienne may be transferring out of Florida and Mizzou is a strong contender.
And really, why wouldn't they be? Say what you will about Drink's passing philosophy (it's had its ups and downs) but Mizzou has run the football well since he's gotten here. And they've done it with far more marginal talents (Badie and Schrader) than Trevor Etienne.
And Drink, if he has a guy, WILL feed him the football. If you want a place to showcase your talent and a guy who sure seems to develop the running game really nicely, there aren't many better options than Mizzou.
With Schrader leaving (and Peat, IIRC), I expect Mizzou will definitely get an experienced rusher from the Portal. And I think they'll be strong contenders for anyone they want.
If Etienne is shopping, I could easily see him ending up here. [Reply]

This explanation is correct in one portion of it......
(1) Players can and do improve.....but just as many regress or don't get better. In the case of Cook, he did get better....
What is interesting would be to see what aided in his improvement from last year. [Reply]

Etienne and Rocket Sanders are the names I keep hearing. [Reply]

Hadn't heard Sanders name. Boy he'd look nice; that's a big, fast kid that could really duplicate that hard running style from Schrader but add a little more breakaway element to it.
He's been what Peat was advertised as. Etienne is a bit shiftier but not as powerful. I think Drink may prefer Sanders. [Reply]

Interesting comments here in Jacksonville on the local sports shows....
The talk is out there....especially as bad as Napier's teams have performed. It would not surprise me to see a couple of the better players find their way out even though no one has declared outside of Max Brown. [Reply]

:-) That would be...incredible. I'm not sure who would be on my list of potential transfer backs, but I've always loved Etienne.

Shouldn't.
Bama and UGA were going to the NYE6 either way. Only thing it could do is slightly boost Ole Miss's argument that they have better losses. Their 'Bama loss is now clearly better than our LSU loss, though it really already was. [Reply]
