I know there are enough of us to participate in this thread, even when our seasons inevitably go to shit.
KSU vs Western Illinois today, tip-off at 3:00 pm.
One thing I noticed near the end of the game on Friday night - we had 5 true freshman on the court, and still played sound basketball. None of them were scrub walk-ons either. While I don't think we will make a serious run at anything this year, the foundation is being laid for a solid program in the future. [Reply]
Was thinking about this. KU is a sure almost lock for a top 1 seed somewhere. The question is, if K-State beat KU tomorrow, could it be possible that two teams from the state of Kansas be top seeded on the NCAA tournament? [Reply]

Unlikely. Duke would have to lose, and even then KSU would still have to move past teams like West Virginia and Ohio State who are on the verge of winning their own conference tournaments. [Reply]

I think KSU could possibly get in over WVU and OSU based on RPI/conference strength, but we would need a Duke Loss. [Reply]

You might still be ahead of tOSU, but you probably also need a WVU loss too. They dont have a bad loss this season and their RPI is also impressive. [Reply]

oh yeah, just looked at the current stats. They've really moved up in both RPI and SOS lately. [Reply]

For you guys to even be in the discussion is impressive. A whole lot of teams that had to lose, did lose, and now there's the cats again. ESPN will have everything you want to see today starting with the Duke game in an hour, followed by the WVU game. Would be cool if they both lost right before the big 12 championship to make this game even more interesting.
Won't matter since the Jayhawks will stomp them into the dirt tonight, but probably still fun for you guys to think about till then. :-) [Reply]

I think most of us with a clue would actually be happier at 2. [Reply]

Why would you rather be at #2 than #1? Afraid of a target on the back or assuming Frank can use it as a motivational tool? Don't want to play in Salt Lake City (which is a possibility as the #2 as well)? [Reply]
