Patrick Mahomes has seen a significant decline in his success on deep passes (20+ air yards) over the past three weeks. Mahomes completion percentage on deep passes:

Weeks 1-3: 61% (11/18)
Weeks 4-6: 26% (6/23)#ChiefsKingdom pic.twitter.com/TliWacbGqR

This X 1000. Pretty sure we will lose any game we play without Mahomes but he needs to get healthy before he ends up with a serious injury. He's more important to our future than a couple of games.

Going to put a gun to his head?

Not saying that he wont re-sign with the Chiefs but it's not simply a matter of what the Chiefs want.

Earlier in the season he seemed to be getting more and more upset at offensive gaffes. It was a stark contrast to last season in which his on-the-field body language seemed a bit more positive.

The last two weeks he's had another demeanor change. He seems dejected.

the origin story for our protagonist is finished

we are now entering the sequel where conflict puts him through a trial by fire

the drama is building...but we know where it ends up

He is walking around with a noticeable limp between plays. And he was plenty animated barking at the officials. It has nothing to do with demeanor. He is playing hurt.

Andrew Luck and Phillip Rivers are phenomenal examples as to why we can't count on this. He's injured and not himself right now, and Andy's dumbass playcalling is only making things worse.

At some point, our free agents and draft picks are going to have to start coming through or we're shaping up to be in trouble.

Aaron Rodgers is a great example as to how generational QB play doesn't guarantee a dynasty, and the thing of it is, in Aaron's Super Bowl win, his defense was asked to get a 4th quarter stop to seal it.

That's much is obvious.

Maybe the injury is affecting his demeanor.

This. He's frustrated probably at himself...but he's a competitor and won't give up. It's commendable, but cooler heads should tell him it may be time to take a short break and get healthy. Oh...and fix the fucking defense.

Just rewatched the clusterfuck game again.

Patrick wasn’t the same after getting hit at the 10:40 mark in the 2nd quarter. He came up limping severely & the offense was never the same.

I'm convinced his bell was rattled as well...he whiplashed and hit his head on the turf, no way it didn't shake him up.

Pete Sweeney did a good take on this. He was 10/16 before the hit for 190 yards and 9/19 after that hit for like 82 yards

Same thing happened last week against Indy.

It’s an absolute must that we keep this kid healthy.
