Im not completely sold on Barkley as a top 5 pick. He will be as good as his offensive line allows him to be. He's not shifty enough to deal with a bad offensive line. Id be happy with the Broncos drafting him. Not to mention how bad value it is to take a rb that high. [Reply]
Taking a RB so high is crazy. Especially after last season and this year’s depth at RB in the draft. If I’m Elway and I’m building around Keesum for a couple years, I try and get Buffalo’s 12, 22 and 53. Then build from there. Take Minkah at 12, OL or pass rusher, then in round 2 get a RB and WR. And yet how many of us would take the top pass rusher in the draft if we could? [Reply]
“I think it’s above average, but not sensational,” Gil Brandt said.
“It’s probably the highest risk-reward quarterback class of the last decade,” Optimum Scouting owner Eric Galko said.
A tweet from former Giants quarterback Danny Kanell: “I see more Jake Lockers in this draft than Carson Wentz … but that won’t stop teams from reaching for QBs in the top 10. I truly don’t understand the you-have-to-draft-a-QB philosophy.”
NFL Network’s Mike Mayock doesn’t rate any of them with Andrew Luck or Carson Wentz. Darnold is his favorite of the current group.
“I don’t see anybody in this class that I get the same gut feel for as those two,” Mayock said. “History tells you we’ll be lucky if we get 2-3 that become franchise quarterbacks.” [Reply]
In today’s game there is no running back worth a top 10 pick. Or even a first round pick. No matter how good they are all RBs will be injured and broken. You can get reliable RBs after the first round. Today’s offenses are pass first and use the run to set up the pass so having a stable of reliable RBs is preferable. [Reply]

I think a RB like Hunt changes that thought process. Even though we got him in the 3rd he is so awesome Defenses have to keep him accounted for. When you have less than mediocre backs like Denver nobody really cares. In hindsight Hunt would be a round 1 pick . [Reply]

That is line with what I prefer. You want to get back to 8-10 wins as soon as you can, but you want to build it right. They are a ways off from SB discussions... I have no delusions about that, it could be a while. They won’t be cellar dwellers though. [Reply]

That's going to depend on how well this draft goes...they lost their 2nd best defender and their best RB. That's ruff for a 5-11 team with a bad HC and journeyman QB.
Defense was the only thing they had going...and most of those pieces are gone. A lot of meh outside of Harris and Miller. [Reply]

99.9% of the time it’s “we’ll see”, but for some reason you are extremely confident that the Broncos won’t continue to suck ass. What are you basing this on? Because it can’t be your GM’s ability to build through the draft. You just think the Broncos are incapabale of it for no reason other than “because Broncos”. [Reply]
