Just hate to see these kind of monster efforts like Lukas to be wasted like that. Kyrie has to be much better than this. They can’t win without him. Boston has decided not to blitz Luka like other teams do and it looks to be working . Luka’s gonna cook blitz or no blitz. So they’re committing to stopping kyrie [Reply]

I think either would probably help getting more variety back in the sport but neither is likely to happen.
I don’t think you can really fix it but it’s a huge problem. NBA has a big time blowout problem. These games can swing way too wildly. Unfortunately this series is looking like if Boston hits them, they blowout… if they miss them they keep it close like today. Really hope I’m wrong [Reply]

I don’t think the NBA sees it as a problem quite yet but they may in a few years when literally every team plays exactly the same way. Took baseball a while too to recognize what was happening to it at the MLB level. [Reply]

Vegas changes everything. On the one hand, they probably made bank with all these blowouts. But I’m sure they’ve heard plenty from fans. I think the nba is well aware they have a huge blowout problem. The three point frenzies are fun to watch but not when the game is over by the 3rd quarter. [Reply]

The Celtics will be the first team to go all-in on analytics like this and get a title out of it (assuming no massive choke, which I suppose you can never assume with Tatum). They don’t even have a team of great 3PT shooters, just a bunch of decent to pretty good ones, and they’ve been coached up in this system to take as many as possible in the half court regardless of how good a shot it is in isolation. This type of basketball is effectively the culmination of the change that began originally with the Nash Suns and soon all teams will be doing the same. [Reply]

I don't think it's fun to watch at all. It's like Arena league football [Reply]
