Year Two of the Matt Quatraro tenure. Time to take a step up this year. Active in free agency and trades this offseason. A new look pitching rotation and bullpen. Will the young players take the leap up offensively? Bobby Witt extension? New stadium? Will Vinny recover from injury? Salvy taking aim at the Royals record book? Will Cole Ragans turn into the best Royals starting pitcher since Greinke 1.0?

Where does the Royals record stand now with you in attendance this season?

All of this has been true thus far. Gotta give JJ credit. He didn't sit on his hands when things were going poorly. [Reply]
Yuli Gurriel, Tommy Pham, and Robbie Grossman - the three guys the Royals acquired for nothing more than cash after Vinnie Pasquantino got hurt - have combined to go 11-for-34 with 3 doubles and a homer so far, a line of .324/.351/.500. More sweet work from JJ Picollo.

Also we will never know, because they didn't get a chance. It's a good thing we released Brent Rooker because some shit bird needed playing time. [Reply]
It's pretty much a given that the Royals will get a WC spot. The Royals would have to go on a bad losing stretch and the Red Sox and Tigers would have to go on a crazy winning stretch. All the Royals have to do is win 8 of their last 19 games and they win the 3rd wild card spot for sure. There is even a legit shot of the getting it with just 5 wins in their last 19. [Reply]
The other part of it is a lot of these AL contenders play each other. Minnesota's schedule isn't brutal but the last two weeks is tough, Cleveland, Boston & Baltimore.
Detroit and Baltimore still have to play against their entire season series. So if Detroit really gets that hot, it probably means Baltimore is taking on losses.
After this Yankees series coming up, the Royals finish their brutal stretch and then almost the entire rest of the season is interleague games against the NL, except the Tigers series. Kind of weird really when you look at it. [Reply]
