Well hard to give an answer without the options...

Johnson is my pick, but Kirk would be the smart play from a "long term contract" spot.

Again, stop with the fucking drama queen bullshit. It's absolutely amazing how bad you want the sky to be falling long before it's falling.
Cooper got traded from Cleveland to Buffalo.

If Cleveland was willing to send him to Buffalo, they'd be willing to send him here.

Now I'm not saying it's nightmarish to not have gotten him, but if a 2025 3rd and 2026 7th got him from Cleveland, I'd have given a 2025 3rd and 2026 6th just go put us over the top and get the deal done.

Get to yes. Get someone in here. Cooper would've helped quite a bit and yeah, he was just as available to us as he would've been to Buffalo.

Ummm I was talking about Adams...

But yes, Cooper was the preferred option, but not the only one. Hell, Diontae is right behind him for me.

It sucks but the fact that they're still churning out offensive points and yards is pretty damn impressive.

Take away Henry, Flowers and whoever the 3rd option is in Balt.

Look around the league at teams who have the injuries we do and what would happen to them.

ANd yet we roll on.
Kollman posted some of the efficiency stats yesterday and yeah, it's pretty clear they are great at playing to what they've got right now. Should only improve realistically.

2) Slayton
3) Kirk
4) Robinson
5) Thielen

But no. Ross and Remigio still on the practice squad. MVS signing with the Saints. Toney presumably getting the call up now that Cooper is gone.

Moore in 2024 is one of the worst players rostered in football. He's fucking worthless, and it's pretty inexplicable to me that wasn't addressed over the bye, even if it was just bringing back someone ever so slightly less worthless while they still worked the phones to bring in a difference maker.
I just keep getting back to the Noah Brown thing.

If you replace Skyy Moore with ANYONE useful at roster cut-downs, it sure would be nice right now. There was zero reason not to have cut Moore for some of the guys who were cut as the rosters were pared.

There's just no room for charity cases on an NFL roster. There were a dozen or more opportunities to improve that spot and for some bizarre reason we didn't. And haven't. And I'd give you 3 to 1 odds we WON'T. He's here for the rest of the season.

I don't know why. And at this point I'm not sure the coaching staff does. It seems like stubbornness at this point.

Nobody's saying to trade Moore for Justin Jefferson. But man, KJ Osborn is out there in NE being grumpy and the Patriots have absorbed half his pay this season in his bonus -- his base is minimal. Go get that done for a 3rd day pick. Put someone at the BACK of this WR room that can actually play football.

Then keep poking and prodding on the Johnson front. If the Panthers aren't eager to move him yet, so be it. But get Osborn to get SOMEONE in here that can actually play ball.

Not simply having someone you can put on the field and get C- play from is currently more damaging than not having a legit #1 would ever be.

Yeah, I was saying this to O.City yesterday, but I think they've really done a nice job of finding an identity and are playing to it well.

But it's an identity with a ceiling. It's that sort of Ravens shit where they're kinda game-script dependent.

And what have we always said while people were fondling Raven nuts in the regular season? "Cool story bro, you can win a lot of regular season games that way, but when the post-season comes around you're gonna have a game where you have to pitch backwards and steal one..."

I don't think this offense can.

I like the idea of creating an A and B tier of guys and saying we should get one of both.

I'd add KJ Osborn to the B tier.

If you can get Slayton and Osborn, you're not going to fundamentally transform the sport or anything, but you're going to add 2 quality NFL wide receivers to your roster and that's going to help a ton.

That feels like the MINIMUM of what we should be doing but it also feels like...shit man, it might be plenty.

We need depth as much as ceiling at this point.

The Rams are a big win Thursday night from being my NFC West favorite again so it's just tough to see them getting rid of Robinson right now.

I forgot all about Claypool. Is he healthy? That wouldn't be the move just a move. He's kind of a cancer but maybe in our locker room we could make him a teddy bear.

I read it as you saying 'they' wouldn't be traded to KC because of divisional issues (and thus thought you included Cooper); no idea why.

Worst case scenario he's a taller and faster Moore.

Isn't Mahomes the difference though, compared to those Ravens teams? And the proof is obviously in the pudding. Last year's offense was worse but the playoffs came and he just found a way in every critical moment.

If the bottom falls out of the defense, which would only happen due to injuries, then yeah, they are fucked. And I would argue that's the case even if they added Tyreek Hill into this offense.

But if the defense maintains top five level play, and you have your OL healthy along with obviously Mahomes, Kelce, Worthy... I'm just fine seeing them score around 27 or so a game while leaning primarily on the horses in the backfield.

Defense hasn't given up 28 since LVII, and I'm not sure the streak ends this year.

The "they won't trade with us" stuff is kinda the "they're holding back for the playoffs". There's some of it, probably.

But I'd guess it's more, we just aren't willing to go where the Bills did. Which....fine.

But damn.
