I’m fine with them continuing that trend. That’s why their one and only real move in FA was signing a mediocre backup QB.
I was happy to have Dorsey drafting all those "starters" and watching them choke in the playoffs. Hope Veech continues that trend with pmINT at the helm as he dumps all the guys Dorsey brought in. All those years I heard loss spouting off about Dorsey's great drafts and he has one weak WC win vs a terrible Texans team to show for it. [Reply]
Yeah, KC is getting a discount right now with Hill and Hunt, and Watkins' money is just deferred til next year. Doesn't mean they're a better team than they were last year though.
So you're argument is KC's offense is NOT better with Watkins, then say Chris Conley, Jehu Chesson, etc., or whoever else you wanna plug in there?
And as far as next year (with Watkins 19 mil. cap hit), KC is on the hook for $35 mil. for their skill position offensive players.
Denver will be paying that same group $56 mil. in 2019. [Reply]
Denver is now paying a backup QB who's had 1 good year to start for them. They're clearly not better than they were last year, and they sucked las tyear. [Reply]

And we're all happy El fraud continues to lead the Donkos into post-Manning purgatory with shitty drafts and F.A. signings . . . . .

He had 22 TD’s in 15 games with an elite surrounding cast of talent and coaching. He’s not getting anywhere near that surrounding cast in Denver.
Vance Joseph is terrible enough. Dude got blown out more than the Browns last year and outcoached badly by the Chargers and Chiefs. Now they lose Talib.
Broncos are headed to a dark place right now. [Reply]

Watkins is better than Conley. Mahomes isn't better than Alex Smith.

I don't see Denver doing that next year. We'll see. [Reply]
Most of us understand there will be a learning curve next year with PMII, but all in all I could really give two shits whether Pat's QB rating is better next year than Alexis' was this year.
I'd much rather have the QB that can actually DO something for you when you get to the playoffs and has the ability to put the team on his back and carry them. We ALL know Alex CAN'T do that. Can Mahomes? TBD, but the early reviews look promising. We'll find out soon enough. [Reply]

2nd half TD’s vs Steelers: 0
2nd half TD’s vs Titans: 0
Not much for Mahomes to do to be better than Alex. [Reply]
Still only threw 26 TD’s despite having 3 1,000 yard weapons at WR/TE/RB. He was efficient, but let’s not pretend he was anymore of a playmaker big picture wise despite connecting on more deep balls. [Reply]
