And you'd still be paying $14 million for your #2 WR. Are we doing that?

And the draft pick.

Which is essential another cheap contract you're giving up.

I'm all about OBJ but it's a lot.

Nope. Try $6 million more.

"... He's in the 20s. From what he has told people close to him, he wants to be in the low 20s."

We'll see who's laughing next season when Mahomes takes turns burning the let it fly zone with Watkins, Hill, and Kelce. :-)

The money is going to be big with OBJ but getting rid of Sanders' $11M this year helps. Denver needs to get younger at WR and a 25 year old, top 3 WR won't come cheap.

Denver would be getting #21 overall so they'd be getting a cheap contract in return as well.

Trading Sanders nets you $5 million.

DT might not be around much longer. He could be gone next year if he doesn't take a pay cut. There's no way Denver is paying him the $17M he's due next year.

Denver can make room. They can still cut or trade CJ Anderson and possibly make Buffalo take Menelik Watson as part of the trade.

C.J. maybe. Why would Buffalo take on a garbage RT with a 9 mil. cap hit?!? That's not happening . . . unless you guys are throwing in another high pick to send to them.

Because they desperately want to trade into the top 5 for a QB, the Giants don't want to leave the top 5, and the Browns are not interested in trading the #4 pick.

Watson would only cost them $5.5M because Denver would eat the bonus money.

OBJ is a better receiver than Watkins, obviously. But Watkins is on, essentially, a 2 year deal with KC and only costing them 7.8 mil. this year. OBJ is an 8.5 mil. cap hit this year and is reportedly seeking a long term deal of $20 mil./year plus after this year. Is Denver gonna pay that?

Denver is on the hook for $44 mil. this year for their skill position players (QB, RB, TE, WR1, WR2). KC's offensive skill position players are costing them a combined $23 mil.

So you might want to hold up on the LOL's for the money KC is paying their #2 WR . . . .

Broncos have very few high impact players on rookie contracts compared to veterans being overpaid.

I’m fine with them continuing that trend. That’s why their one and only real move in FA was signing a mediocre backup QB.

Next year Sammy is going to be making $19M and they're on the hook for $7M of Sammy's $20M salary in 2020 no matter what. Denver would probably have to pay OBJ what Sammy will be making in 2019 and 2020, and they'd be getting more bang for their buck.

Yeah, KC is getting a discount right now with Hill and Hunt, and Watkins' money is just deferred til next year. Doesn't mean they're a better team than they were last year though.
