Didn’t the Redskins play Brian Orakpo at strong side LB for a year or two early in his career? Still got a bunch of sacks, so maybe Chenal can follow a similar trajectory. [Reply]

and yeah, he had 8 sacks, so he's got pass rush ability too; and I could well see them blitzing him a lot, or even rotational EDGE on passing downs. He's going to play a lot.
A lot of his sacks seem to be pursuit sacks from short zone coverage. The rest seem to be interior blitzes.
He didn’t really show the edge technique that some are presuming he has based on his sack numbers.
Look at him as a supercharged Niemann and you’re on the right track. At least for now.
In time I think he’ll develop more edge technique and get more comfortable in coverage.
The tools or there but the reps in those situations really haven’t been. [Reply]

Bright side of this: if he was consistently rushing from the edge successfully, there’s no chance the Chiefs could’ve drafted him where they did. [Reply]

I think he could be a better edge rusher than Karlaftis, given the opportunity and coaching.
I really, really want to be wrong about Karlaftis, but I just don't like him. Not him personally, but his transition to the NFL in this defense.
