Nzoner's Game Room>***Official 2024/2025 KC Royals Offseason Thread***
GabyKeepsMeWarm 03:35 AM 10-11-2024
Royals went from 56-106 to 86-76.

Made the playoffs. Took out the Orioles on the road.

Lost in four games to the Yankees by 4 runs.

Finally got a bullpen.

Had two pitchers who will finish in the top five for the Cy Young.

Bobby Witt jr turned into a superstar likely being an MVP #2 to that phag in NY.

Salvy just kept doing Salvy stuff.

Vinnie came back from shoulder surgery and had a helluva year.

Cole Ragans had a full season. His arm didn’t fall off. He’s probably top five for Cy Young.

Seth Lugo is gonna finish top five for Cy Young. He’s like Rick Reed. And he’s ours for at least another season.

Brady Singer will get his next time with arbitration. And I’m ambivalent, but I know it’s damn hard to find healthy arms who could be be better as a 3/4 starter.

Michael Wacha was more than everything we could’ve ever wanted, but I say let that man fly unless he wants to take a dumb contract, which he won’t do.

That gives us Alec Marsh who was pretty great for his role.

And we have Wright coming in, plus Bubic who could start.

But this team needs another bat and wingman for Bobby. It’s perfect that Juan Soto would fill many roles, but it ain’t happening.

Adames is someone I like. And we can dangle Massey/Garcia. Just a thought.

This team…. I hope they go into the offseason working hard, and I hope they got the glitter out of their eyes.

Good team with obvious weakness, and a perennial superstar ready to erupt….

Sherman and JJ should be on the phone soon

Manager of the Year awards go out tonight. Fingers crossed for Q!

In other news... https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/...dy-2028-season

Seriously... I just don't get why MLB seems hell bent on keeping baseball in Tampa when the public clearly doesn't give a shit. They never draw dick for fans, with one of the biggest complaints being the location. So the solution is a new stadium/shopping/entertainment district in the same location, and they can't ever figure out the funding to get it done? Meanwhile, they've gotta play in a minor league ballpark in 2025 because the Trop is missing its roof, and that won't be replaced/fixed until 2026. What. A. Mess.

Were the problems in Montreal worse than this? It always felt like Montreal kinda got squeezed, and MLB only stepped in as a means to expedite the move to DC.

Just feels like Montreal, New Jersey, Charlotte, Sacramento, Vancouver, Nashville, San Antonio or even Orlando would be better spots, if we're already including the A's as being destined for Las Vegas.

And Quatraro gets screwed. Stephen Vogt is AL MOY. He must give the writers the best blowjobs around, because I just don't get how you could vote that guy ahead of Q.

These awards are a joke. Vogt took a team that was favored to win the division and…..won the division. Wow! Impressive! He’s not even top 2 manager of the AL Central this year.

Baseball writers are the same faggots who won't put any player unanimous in the hall of fame for integrity reasons yet they vote for stupid shit like Vogt for AL Manager of the Year

Awesome news for a St. Joe CHS alum.

St. Joe’s Noah Cameron has been added to the Royals 40 man roster.

Q got screwed. He took a 106 loss team to the playoffs and won a wildcard round. Way more impressive than anything Vogt has ever or will ever do in his managerial career.

Yeah, I don't get it. Should've been a slam dunk for Q. Wonder what is so special about Vogt's blowjob routine. Tickle the balls? Finger in the butt? Eye contact?

Vogt was beloved as a player and the media has been gloating about him ever since he got hired as manager.

I keep hearing about how he replaced a legend (Terry Francona). But like Why Not? mentioned, his team was favored to win the division. Cleveland and Milwaukee are like Tampa Bay. They have shrewd front offices that overachieve and outperform the industry over and over. I don't know why the new manager is being graded on a steep curve.

The other pro about Vogt was his bullpen management. Fair enough. AJ Hinch did similar things. I don't think his managing warranted a 27-2-1 edge in first-place votes over Quatraro and Hinch.

What about this guy? And his last name is Steer. Perfect for Cow Town.
