They need to have Mecole Hardman step up to the plate. His deep ball catch in the Super Bowl shouldn't go unnoticed. He came in clutch in the Super Bowl to win the game. He is a threat every time he gets the ball and has done great job on jet sweeps. I like the kid always have even when frowned upon by CP I've always believed he can make plays. No, he's not a number one but he is a role player.
I trust in Veach to make any moves necessary to improve our ball team and support anyone who can step up to the plate knowing Skyy Moore is not him.
I pray Rashee Rice injury isn't that serious and has a quick recovery and back on the field sooner than later. I pray he comes back 100% [Reply]

I think where I ultimately shake out on this is that Veach/Reid clearly identified WR as a major weak spot in the offseason that they needed to overhaul. Since then, we've lost both our WR1 and WR2 to injuries that could be season-ending or at least very close.
I know we usually see them address these issues in the offseason, but I can't see them standing by and not making a move to correct this. If it were just Brown, sure, they'd stand pat. But I would be very surprised if we lived in a world where the team doesn't try very hard to get a Hopkins or something to rase the floor of the room. Just probably isn't happening until closer to the trade deadline in early November, unfortunately. [Reply]

I sincerely don’t understand why Sky Moore is out there over Hardman. Like I can think of highlights Hardman has from regular games. The only thing I think of with Sky Moore the past 2 years is scoring on Corndog. That’s it [Reply]

I believe we will find a way to win until then. Defense did great today and hopefully Kelce finds his stride [Reply]
I imagine Rice is out for the year. If it his ACL then it's a bad ACL injury. You usually see even with an ACL tear that athletes can still have some weight bearing, Rice had no chance.
Given that and Hollywood won't be back until atleast January, i can't see us not adding a WR. I think Mahomes deliberately threw that third down pass to Moore as a 'look at the fucking state of this guy'.
Ideal world with achievable names? Diontae Johnson, Amari Cooper, Zay Jones. But honestly any teams WR3 is gonna be a step up on Hardman, Moore etc.
Would be great to get them in before the bye week so they have more time to learn & train without missing games. [Reply]
The question is has Veach ever traded for a 30 plus year old player? Not from what I recall.
Cooper= 30
Hopkins= 32
Johnson= 28
The receiver he did trade for was 23 year old Kadarius Toney on a rookie contract. And imo if we're gonna get an older WR why not just get 31 year old Michael Thomas for free?
The guy I've been thinking about is Jalin Hyatt. Not getting targets in New York and is a fast receiver with good potential. I think a 4th or 5th could get him. Him and Worthy would be some serious wheels to deal with I think. [Reply]

Special circumstances will push a change in approach. Going for a three peat and possibly lost WR1 & WR2 for the year. IMO no point in trading for a player who could end up competing with Hardman and Moore for snaps, we need a guy who can come in and be proven. [Reply]

In the coming months you’ll probably see a lot of mahomes slander. And it won’t be coming from me. I’m getting ahead of it by saying something is wrong with mahomes right now and this WR group as it is will make it hard for him to snap out of it. But we will keep winning games because Reid and mahomes find ways to do it, and because spags can carry us for another year [Reply]

They won't sell the farm for an older player with no longterm prospects imo.
He tends to have an age preference when it comes to who he trades for. Last year our wideouts were terrible and he stood Pat. It's gonna be very interesting to see what he does now.
Watson
Worthy
Juju
Moore
Hardman
Are there. Another body must be added. Either it's Ross or Washington. Or someone is getting signed. [Reply]

Pat has gone through these slumps before. But at least this time he's making big plays in between the silly mistakes. He just needs a few games where he protects the ball and hopefully he'll get on a good run. [Reply]
First of all, is not having Rice out there a major hindrance to what this team wants to accomplish? Still have Kelce, Worthy, Juju, Hardman, etc. And Hollywood will come back for the playoffs... [Reply]

Unfortunately protecting the ball is what’s regressed him which is why I reject others ideas that we just need to get him back to two years ago. Until we get some of those gunslinger instincts back he’s gonna stay stuck. Losing Hollywood was such a kick in the nuts because he was the first reliable deep speed target we’ve seen in years. Worthy needs to progress quickly and Andy needs to be more comfortable with that than he’s used to.
I don’t know if that alone fixes it though. At some point we’ve gotta get both worlds with a mahomes that can run the offense with both efficiency while being fearless to gunsling it when needed. [Reply]

Well, yelling into the void as if there's some intentional roster mismanagement at the heart of it all is ridiculous.
Toney and Moore flopped. We HAD to get younger and cheaper and it was a risk. Rice worked out, but now he's out. Brown may never play a down in KC. At least Worthy looks...worthy.
We've grown our own on defense, and we have to grow our own on offense, too. Sometimes it won't go as hoped, but that's part of the deal.
Nobody did anything to Mahomes. They tried to draft and sign him weapons, a couple didn't pan out, and a couple are injured. It's the NFL. Shit happens. [Reply]
