He still has time, his first year at Temple he had 2 wins. His first year at Baylor he had 1 win.
Losing on the road to Minnesota on the road after 4 turnovers isn't the end of the world. I try to give guys at least 3 years to get their recruits in, but Simms was a mistake.

Yet another Husker loss that should not have been. BUT...I did take a few positives from this gut wrenching loss:
Defense was actually pretty good. Gang tackling, hard hitting, and if not for the offense shitting themselves with 4 fucking turnovers, the defense was downright good. That was nice to see.
We had some good runs, even some shockingly good passes and receptions.
Sims is...not a great passer, but he did make some good throws. He was a threat with his feet, and that changed the way Minny had to play on defense, so that was good.
I dunno, we've sucked so much in the last 8 years especially that this loss, while expected, was much closer than I thought it would be. And I feel that most of the mistakes made are fixable.
I don't want to talk about the negatives. Suffice to say, once we let them tie it up, I just felt it was over. Then we start moving the ball pretty well, and I started to (foolishly) believe. Then, the final pick.

Sigh. Go Chiefs.
Did anyone happen to notice how badly the left tackle got his ass whooped tonight? There was a series where their right DE whooped a double team and got a sack. Two plays later blew up the left tackle and sacked Simms again.
Simms telegraphs his passes, but that Oline pass protection was suspect.
Really it all comes down to talent, the one coach we had that brought it in was Callahan and Nebraska fans wanted to run him out. Pelini had a good year with Callahan's recruits and we've had a sack of shit barely worth watching since then. [Reply]
