If you changed your stance well after that... it’s news to me, and you would have to show it. Go find that comment where you agreed that 8-8 was a push and I'll say I was incorrect with my version of how this transpired. I looked for 3+ pages after the comments posted below and never found that comment from you, and those 3+ pages covered 2 weeks of games.

Had you changed your terms to take 8-8 off the table, I would have accepted. Hell, I believe Pasta and/or NWO posted as much at the time about why wouldn't you do that. Good luck.

I doubt more than 3 people care at this point... just think, all you had to do is remove 8-8 from the bet and you wouldn't be reading this right now. You never altered your terms, that's the point of all this.

Enjoy Gavelston...

It has to sting that he had you dead to rights and backed out.

Meh... not so much. I made the bet with BlackOp and was nearly 100% confident he wouldnt' take it. Although, had he accepted ... I would have bowed out per the terms. Hell, BlackOp has posted he's leaving a few times since last year, he's still around.

Regarding TEX - As you pointed out then as well, he had it all lined up and I just didn't see the point in taking a bet where a .500 finish would have made anyone a winner. Finishing .500 isn't winning or losing, it's just that ... .500, it's a tie.

I found it particularly funny that he was incredibly confident they would suck, yet he wouldn't take the terms. Now, he wants to revise history as if he agreed to the terms... just comical.

Opportunity lost for him.

They couldn't keep him forever. But yeah, not having three #1 CB's anymore is going to be an adjustment. Our secondary should still be one of the 5 best in the league, or close to it at least.

382 points given up. Wow. Such good secondary.

Well, they changed their philosophy up... if they weren't going to do what made them great, then move Talib. The dude is great, but expendable and they have depth. Getting someone like Minkah would be ideal, IMO... younger, cheaper and potentially every bit as badass without the gold chain fetish.

Personally, I think that if Elway doesn't come away with a top QB from this draft class he'll seal his own fate and be fired sooner rather than later. Keenum is good enough to keep you out of the cellar but not good enough to win you championships so this'll be the last time you're picking in the top 5 for a while.

It seems like every year there are at least 3-5 first round CB's. Using a top 5 pick on one is unnecessary, IMO.

Desmond Trufant, Tre'Davious White, William Jackson, Bradley Roby, Xavier Rhodes, and Jason Verrett are stud CB's and they were all picked in the 20's.

That's assuming that any of these top QBs is truly that... a top franchise caliber QB. More often than not, these guys don't turn out to be great.

One might... two could, but it's such a crapshoot.

I'm prepared to be disappointed if they take someone like Mayfield. I don't know what somoene like Rosen can really do. Allen... feel like I've seen that movie before. Count me out. My guess is that if they do take a QB, it will be Rosen or Mayfield. (hurl)

Then Denver should trade out of #5, collect picks and move back... then they can always parlay picks to get back late into R1 for another impact player.

Ideally, I'd love to see that happen. Move back to 15 or so, then package a few picks to move back into the mid/late 20s. Trade 5 and R3#99 to BUF for 12 and 22. Hell, trade 5 for 12 and BUF's 2 R2 picks...

It's better to swing for the fences in the hopes of landing a franchise QB than it is to walk to first base which is what you're essentially doing with Keenum. We've already seen what his ceiling is and barring him playing out of his mind for a 3 or 4 game stretch like Foles did you're not going anywhere with him, IMO.
