Denver wasn’t close to splitting at all. A silly WR pass that ended up being a red zone INT made the first game closer. The second game, Mahomes left up 14. Bray screwed that up. Mahomes came in and had the game-winning drive. Denver was never in those games because of their QBs. [Reply]

They are firmly in that wonderful purgatory. You are going to need a Herm level rebuild where he essentially came in to an aging and overpaid roster with zero young talent and had to basically start from scratch. Good thing for the Broncos, they already have their laughing stock mini-Herm coaching the clown show with Dewars on the rocks "running" the FO.
Denver will fail miserably this season and VJ will be fired, then they will be sitting there with a well known drunk mess on the throne, an average at best QB, the second worst oline in the league (thank Seattle), unknown ownership, and any remaining talent will want out or stay on and show any young players how to lose Bronco-style. Real attractive package there for top executive/coaching talent. If whoever owns that shit show (Ms. Bowlen aka the Joker) decides to can Elfraud then good luck on getting a decent GM/coach combo. Yeah, at 3-1... totally didn't expect them to end with just 5 wins. As I've said many times, I'm fine with lulls here and there - they happen. Denver is in one now, but I don't see it being this decade of purgatory that you envision. [Reply]
