JD has to be gone (I believe he has a year of eligibility left). Even if he wants to keep playing, he probably needs a fresh start. With losing these receivers and Neal, his life here isn’t getting any easier.
So are we assuming Marshall as QB next year? I’d be a little surprised to see us make a splash in the Portal for someone better.
I'm not sure how to feel about this. He was clearly still recovering at the beginning of the year and got better as the year went on. Yet he still obviously made mistakes. It probably raises the floor for next year but also lowers the ceiling because he is what he is at this point: and gunslinger who can occasionally make huge plays and also make dumb mistakes. [Reply]
I'd be surprised if we could do better than Daniels next year at QB but we saw what he was without Kotelnicki hiding his flaws (and there were quite a few). [Reply]
Also, I know that college sports has come to this, but it's sad that this announcement isn't that he came back to Kansas because he likes the program or wants to win a championship, it's that he "signed a new deal". I don't blame anyone for getting their money of course, it's just a little depressing this is what the NIL situation has become. [Reply]
