They most likely called him and were told that he wasn't interested. Just clearing up the false narrative that Elway was never interested in signing him. Keenum was their guy - simply because they couldn't get Cousins.

Supposedly Cousins laughed at it. Wanted Minny from the start.

Oh dude, you want Mayfield. You WANT Mayfield! Send emails, memos( but no FAX's ), or stage a rally if necessary.

Mayfield is YOUR MAN.

Nope.

ALL FOUR would be no better than the FOURTH best prospect last year. Embarrassing. You are really dumb if you think these clowns are going to be elite.

Yep.

If they don’t address the OL, doesn’t matter. It’s not all about a QB saving them... I think Case has a chance to repeat what he did in 2017 if the ground game is more consistent and they add a TE threat. Could be Jale, but who knows. I’d like to see them sign a nice pass catching TE.

Denver’s offense had issues outside of just QB. Thomas and Sanders still have a few solid years in them, but they need some help around them. Starts with the OL.

NFL's Worst Offseason Contracts:

Case Keenum, Broncos quarterback: The Vikings bought low on Keenum last year at $2 million when quarterback-needy teams like the Broncos ignored him. The Broncos bought exceedingly high this offseason with a two-year, $36 million contract.

The money is an incredible achievement for a likable player who has gone through a lot in his career, as NFL Films documented in the Rams' underrated "All or Nothing" season. But it was very surprising to see the Broncos fully guarantee $7 million of Keenum's 2019 salary, along with his entire $18 million salary guaranteed for injury. The Broncos will be literally paying for this move for two years, and they could be figuratively paying for it longer, unless Broncos executive John Elway finally solves the team's offensive line and run-game issues. So much of the support that made Keenum money in Minnesota won't be traveling west with him.

I was floored even if the APY is bloated by the short term. At best his production has been that of a 1A and hes hurt alot. My feeling is KC will look at this as they did Maclin and Bowe by the end of next year https://t.co/wzknEimcNW

it all comes down to the offensive line for Dungver. CK had a heckuva an o-line in front of him and better RBs. The only position group that Denver has on offense that is better than Minnesota is their WRs in Thomas and Sanders. It really comes down to fixing that o-line and finding a respectable TE. If those things don't happen CK will have quite a challenge IMHO and I really like Keenum. He is very gritty and smart and plays above his talent level consistently.

Yeah, Goff and Taylor didn't do a good job getting him the ball.

He doesn't have to worry about that anymore

You forgot Hitchens' contract in the link you posted, btw.

Hitchens happened to time his trip into the open market to coincide in the same season that his old position coach with the Cowboys, Matt Eberflus, was named the defensive coordinator with the Colts. That led to a bidding war and a contract that raised eyebrows around the league.

It's rare to see any inside linebacker get a $14 million signing bonus and $21.5 million fully guaranteed over the first two years of a contract, much less one who has never come close to a Pro Bowl berth. The Chiefs believe Hitchens can add some pass-rush ability from the position, but something doesn't add up when Hitchens' contract is in the ballpark of Luke Kuechly's and Bobby Wagner's last deals. Even limiting the comparison to this year's free-agent market, more productive players like Avery Williamson and Zach Brown received vastly inferior contracts.

That's worrisome news for the Chiefs, but great news for Hitchens and his agent. Every "worst contract" on this list could easily be flipped and called a "best contract" for the player involved, rare cases where the teams lose in a system stacked heavily in their favor.

When Mahomes is shredding your secondary and Watkins, Hill and Kelce are gashing your D, you won’t be all :-)

Mahomes made Albert Wilson look like Wes Welker against you :-)
