They needed about 5 to get back into viable FG range so a screen would have been defensible as well but those are awfully difficult to pull off when you're spread as wide as we were; there's just too much grass for guys to knife through and mess those up.
I just think that cover 0 caught everyone completely flat-footed and I don't know that they even had a play to kill to at that point. I guess you tip your cap to Baltimore but at the time it was just hideous.
That's where not having Hunt here or a healthy Watkins and or Hill. Just run a swing route to Hunt and he's not getting tackled 1 on 1 by a LBer. Or let Sammy run a back shoulder or a go or a slant.
Or let Hill run past everyone.
My god they're just banged up. They're probably gonna have to play this Thursday game a little closet to the chest TBH. It's absolute horseshit that the game essentially will determine the 1 seed and HFA and it's played on a Thursday night. [Reply]

No it won't.
Chiefs just need to win 2 of 3 to lock up the 1 seed and HFA. If they lose to the Chargers to fall into a tie then win in Seattle and vs Oakland, they win the 1 seed over the Chargers by virtue of divisional records; that loss to Denver really screwed the Chargers pooch because it was a divisional L.
Honestly, I hate the idea of just taking the L vs. the Chargers and setting yourself up for a must win at Seattle in a game they'll need to win to stay in the playoff hunt, but coming off the 'mini-bye' it may be better to just get some guys healthy this week if they're not ready at full tilt.
Winning 2 of the next 3 in any combination wins them the division and the 1 seed. [Reply]

I don't want to have to go into Seattle and win. I'd prefer to just finish this shit off Thursday night and be done with it. [Reply]

So would I.
But if Hill's going out there with a bruised heel and you're gutting by on 4 days rest after the most physical game you'll play this season...yeah, I have my druther's but reality plays a part here as well.
There's some triage here that may be in order. It's not anything resembling ideal but ideal involves a healthy Berry and Watkins with a teetotalling Hunt in the backfield.
'Ideal' left the equation a loooooong time ago. [Reply]

The twitter doc talked about the fact that since it's his heel he can still run since it doesn't hit the ground.
If it's that bad though, just sit him. But we're running pretty dangerously thing on guys who can get open at that point. [Reply]
