That shit lasts a few weeks at most if it's not backed up by actual competent coaching.
Pierce was smart enough to bring in vet coaches like Tom Coughlin, Marvin Lewis,(for the defense), and Adam Gase as advisors/mentors. He seems to understand he needs coaching help.
He’s def an underdog when it comes to coaching in the AFC WEST. [Reply]

Tom Coughlin and Adam Gase are known as two of the coaches who have been involved in the most dramatic mismanagement of franchises and people in the last decade. Nice work.

And Marvin Lewis was...the Bengals.
Remember when Reid was fired before coming to KC? Remember the threads in here that wanted him fired before PM? Remember Belichick getting fired before NE? Remember the no name LB coach for the Raiders that got hired as HC? (Madden)
Having said that, I have no clue as to the success for the current Raider staff but judge cautiously..... [Reply]

The floor was extremely low from the prior debacle and Pierce did raise it. The ceiling for Pierce is unknown, and I'll need to see how the team performs throughout the season before I make any declarations. [Reply]

Tom Coughlin SB winning coach
Adam Gase SB winning OC
Marvin Lewis SB winning DC
These 3 guys have a wealth of knowledge to help coach Pierce. Although you're not incorrect with your statement, they have also had success in their coaching careers. [Reply]

They(defense) did seem to play much harder, better under Pierce than Josh Mcdaniels to get Pierce the gig, but can they keep that intensity up? Most teams cant play with that intensity long term.
Even then their offense will only allow them to go so far. Good enough to keep the Broncos in the basement but no playoffs and losing record. [Reply]

Wait, what? Are you saying that the Raiders actually were dumb enough to hire Adam Gase in any capacity? Lol, I can't wait to see how incredibly bad that turns out.

We will see how good Pierce is as a coach over the next couple of seasons. I will acknowledge that your owner made the right choice in giving him a chance. He’s making up for his mistake in hiring Josh over that interim coach you all had a few years back. [Reply]
LOLOL Heard a training camp interview with Antonio Pierce on NFL radio last night.
They asked about the QB situation he said something like "it's gonna be a competition and we'll choose the starter when it feels right in our gut. You just know. "
Then he went on to say something like "The QB doesn't even need to be a superhero. I'm not talking a game manager, but we have amazing special teams and defense. If we can get AJ to pin them inside their ten, then the defense does their job, get the ball back, our offense is playing with a short field...."
That is some Herm Edwards destined to fail shit right there LOLOL. [Reply]

Coughlin won two Super Bowls against Belichick and Brady. He also took the expansion Jaguars to the AFC Championship Game.

Always Punting is clueless.
I can't wait for Mark to sell. Or Carol to sell. Or the bank to repossess the franchise. [Reply]
