Paying Miller $25 million per on a 5-11 team...for the next two years is "silly". Then $23 mil in year 3....Yikes.
There is no way Denver is drafting a QB at 5 next month, unless Elway is as big of a moron as he seems, which doesn’t seem like it bc his finances are his best quality.
The Broncos can’t cut Keenum in 2019. It would be a disaster. No matter what, regular cut or June 1st, Keenum’s dead money hit would be $10 million.
No way in hell are they eating that. Also no way in hell are they benching him for a rookie QB in 2019 letting $21 million sit the bench. [Reply]

They'll still be in position to draft a top QB in 2020. Elway has aplan. [Reply]

If Rosen is there at 5 the Broncos will take him, otherwise the Broncos will take an impact player like Chubb or Nelson. [Reply]
Passing on a QB at 5 would be a stupid move. Having a stop gap for two years is not a good plan. They probably will and tben have to keep Keenan longer because they pick to low. That team will be blown up in 2020. Thomas, Von and Sanders will all be gone. [Reply]

Bringing in Keesum allows the Broncos to be a whole lot more flexible at 5, for example, they could trade down, pick up another first round pick and still address the QB position in the draft. [Reply]

The entire point of a rookie contract QB is to get a good cheap talent and have money to load up the rest of the team.
You won’t be be able to do that for 2 years. That’s half the timeframe considering a top 5 picks 5th year option will be expensive. [Reply]

Nelson isn't an impact player, you fucking moron. He's a goddamn guard.
You sound like Gruden when he justified taking Janikowski in the 1st round. [Reply]
