They also ended in a tie in the 2nd movie.
And she went from swinging the sword widly to pulling off complex moves in the 2nd movie.
We got no time skip and she pretty much got no training from Luke. [Reply]

So after they've both just got done fighting off praetorian guards its not conceivable that they're both tired and close to equal?
Its a fucking laser sword. You don't need complex training to swing the fucking thing with a bit of grace. Its not even like she has no prior combat skill. [Reply]
Didn't go see this in IMAX Saturday, and maybe that's a good thing
Between this place, and the reviews I've read elsewhere... this thing is a huge pile of shit, you've got fans signing petitions demanding it be discarded and start over with a new movie for crying out loud [Reply]

She's a fucking Junker what Prior combat Skill ?
They both did the same amount of work killing the praetorian guards.
Kylo should still be loads stronger than she is. [Reply]

it's a great Sci fi movie with some beautiful shots.
It's got giant plot holes and shit all over the Cannon.

Stop f-ing saying this! Where does it ever state in any star wars movie that the force only manifests itself in specific family lineages? If this were true, and the Jedi were scooping up anyone they came across with force sensibilities to train them in the Jedi order, they would eventually run out of Jedi! Stop saying this! I know you want the force to only reside in "Pure Bloodlines" but, to my knowledge, this has never been the case - and BTW, the universe is much better off for it. [Reply]

She has been fending her herself, and kicking ass (with a staff no-less) on a rough, poor, dog-eat-dog planet her entire life. Hmm... I can't possibly imagine how sword play seems to come pretty naturally to her. So weird! :-) [Reply]

Well, I think it kind of depends. The folks shredding this movie are doing so because it didn't follow their pre-conceived notions of how the story should play out. If you go into the movie realizing that Rian didn't write the movie using your own personal notes, then you're probably going to be fine. [Reply]
For all this crying about Luke and his character, people do realize that's JJ Abrams fault, right? He's the one that wrote Luke going into self imposed exile and abandoning everyone into the story. He left Rian Johnson with the task of filling in the why. [Reply]

Almost any fan theory out there is better than what Rian picked. [Reply]
