That's awesome, but looking at that brush it looks like a hell of a job to pack that out.

How far? How did you do it?

We were about 3 miles from the road. All uphill of course. We 1/4 it out and use pack frames. I just dropped it at the taxidermist and it rough green scored 180.

That is a front shoulder in the pack by my nearest son. Rear hams weighed just under 100 lbs.

12 year old grandson nailed a young doe with his bow in the timber behind my house.
Already worked up.

It’s like he thinks its his kingdom
His toys, sticks, 2x4’s, dead animals...
I go out and clean it up each night, and the next day it’s pretty much the same scene.
He’s happy, I’m happy

Just finished cleaning the Remington 1100 for this weekend's opening of bird season. I'm psyched, just got back into it two years ago, after many years away from it for various reasons, and then chose to sit out last year as I didn't yet trust my freshly healed collar bone. So I'm anxious to get out in the fields again.

Going down west of Emporia this weekend for quail and the next two weekends out in western Kansas to chase pheasant. Dad has a new Llewellin Setter pup and we are all excited to watch him develop. Few things better than watching a well bred bird dog work.

Me and the fellas are heading out for the annual deer hunt tomorrow. We stay a weekend in a hotel and hunt for 2 days. Sadly, it's been really sparse these last couple of years, a combo of CWD a few years back and the fact that we have to hunt CRP. BUT...we each bring a bottle of good whiskey and have a weekend away from the world...and occasionally somebody shoots a deer.

I can't wait.

And a lot of the CRP is going away in Missouri, so it's not getting any better.
