Okay, here is a place for the Golfers to talk about tournaments, clubs, swing help or thoughts.
Today is the Players Championship, which I think ought to be the 5th Major. Largest pot in the PGA. The daunting 17th, which seems to bring excitement every year. At least we will get to see Sergio blow up yet again.
That completely just looked like some waste area. If it was a legitimate bunker wouldn't it look a hell of a lot better? When preparing for a major, stuff like failing to maintain a bunker doesn't happen. [Reply]

There is nothing in the rules of golf that state how a bunker needs to be maintained. [Reply]

You said there were no rules against that.
I said, who cares about the rules. They should have pride in their golf course and not let people stand and trample all over their bunkers, especially when they are hosting a prestigious tournament such as The PGA Championship.

Make sense?
And I'll reiterate. Bunkers are hazards. As such, there is nothing as to what the playability of the hazard should be. [Reply]
I guarantee you that if you let the crowd trample any other area of that course over 4 days, it would eventually show sand. That whole area is sandy. The grass you see is on sand, it's just watered and cared for. [Reply]

This is not true.
Decision (14-3/36) directly states that you can have the sand in a bunker raked.
Furthermore, if there are cigarette butts, water bottles, trash, or other man-made objects in the bunker, you are entitled to have them removed. [Reply]
