I've been a huge library fiend for the past year and a half or so. It's awesome. They've got new movies and music as well.
my wife is a librarian, so I don't even have to go there! Of course, our library will even mail you the books for $3. And you can get music, movies, ebooks. [Reply]

Damn, I hate to be that one-upping douche but our library system will deliver the shit to your house for the free! Yes, free.99.
It's an awesome service that a large percentage of the population doesn't even know about, which is probably a good thing because if everyone knew they'd probably overload the system. [Reply]
It's kinda risky for me living in apartments though. I had the fourth Game of Thrones book delivered to my house once and no one was home so they legit just left it right at the base of the door. In an apartment that shit could get snatched up so quick.
I mean, it's something from the library that literally anyone can have for free so I wouldn't think people would be apt to steal it, but people are weird and shady. I wouldn't put it past them. [Reply]

ours did until about 2 years ago. they decided to can it because a few people would use it to just order a shitload (you can have 99 items out at once apparently). [Reply]

That's why we can't have nice things. They say we're allowed to check out 101 items at once here. I try and be courteous, only withdrawing 10 books/movies at a time and I won't request home delivery unless it's at a library on the other side of town.
I'd imagine most people don't give two shits, though. Some of the items I check out just look like they've been through hell. I can't tell you how many times I've checked out a movie only to get home and find that the disc is so scratched up my DVD player can't play it. Inconsiderate assholes. It's gotten to the point where i check the disc before even leaving the library to save myself the annoyance. [Reply]

Yeah, I thought so too. Difficult to understand the dialogue at times as well. It was like eating a huge bowl of plain oatmeal- it gets boring fast, and you get full of it after a few bites. [Reply]
Finally watched Gran Torino. I hadn't watched it because I wasn't really into all the slurs. I'm not a prude or anything, I just figured it would be over the top. And it wouldn't have been if Eastwood and all his buddies called each other mics and pollocks. :-)
Goddamn that was a hell of a good movie. I wish I'd have watched it sooner. [Reply]

before I saw Gran Torino easily Unforgiven was IMO the best Eastwood movie...ever.
I don't like racists....don't like slurs etc.....but this movie....you start out hating the sonofabitch and by the end you're rooting for him. just awesome. push comes so shove I think I still give Unforgiven the nod....but Gran Torino is just a great great movie. [Reply]
SK - I love him. remember that even the babe couldn't hit a home run every time!
after I read Under The Dome I wanted to kill him. then I read 11/22/63 and I loved him again. hahahaha
totally agree with afore mentioned - his shorts are the best. but always always the book will outshine a movie. as for the shorts...so many come to mind....but the one that always stuck with me (from Skeleton Crew) cause it just scared the shit out of me....Gramma.
geeze man...just fucking creepy. and the end....OMG.....you'll never look at old people the same again. [Reply]
