Honestly, I think the league welcomes the negative press, hell ANY press. The WNBA is trending. For the wrong reasons? Perhaps. But it's trending nonetheless, and I think that is all they care about at this point.

Clark may be less the savior and more the sacrificial lamb. For as many people who tune in to watch her score points, just as many want to see her get beat to shit.

Besides, it's too late now for the league to start cracking down on hostility because Clark hasn't been the only 'victim'. It's rather rampant. If the WNBA takes a hard stance now, it'll only fuel the anti-Clark sentiment and an inevitable belief that the league is softening itself to accommodate Clark and her inability to adapt to pro-level physicality.

Totally agree and finally someone gets it :-) . Clark has got a huge Nike deal and is already worth more than the vast majority of the players she steps on the court with so acting like she's having it tough Is silly. Angel Reese was cut down by the neck in a previous game herself so Clark isn't the only one getting tough love. But the fact that there is both a big love and a big disdain for Clark is what's driving this publicity and long may it continue cause I've grown to love the sport now.

This is different. This is a bunch of smug bitches who are resentful that clark is growing the game in a different way. Caitlin clark isn’t a heel. She is a woman young girls who previously had no interest in the game aspire to be. But these veterans are so damn stubborn that they’d rather see the league fail in their own image.

The best thing the league can do is to let clark cook. And embrace her appeal. That doesn’t mean take it easy on her. But the approach of refusing to blow the whistle so players can hack the shit out of her to prove the league is tough is ****ing insane. And the narrative from the players and, worse, the media to convince the public they they should stop giving clark her flowers because she’s white is another level of insane. And we know damn well that’s what’s happening because the media narrative is run by the Jemele hills of the world who got away with this kind of shit before the league was popular, but now they are the dinosaurs who refuse to broaden the appeal of the league.

Clark is the only reason anyone cares about women's basketball.

There were "stars" before Clark yet no one cared about the WNBA.

They finally get someone who breaks the all-time college scoring record, something that no one thought anyone would ever do, who is bringing an incredible amount of popularity to the game and the women in the league are resentful towards Clark.

They're biting the hand that's trying to feed them.

Her teammates allow this to happen. Not a serious sport.

There's been some interesting body language at times in these post-game pressers for the Fever.

after the reporters kept asking cc about carter and angel’s physicality against caitlin… did lyss say “they was on my girl today, dang”? 😳 pic.twitter.com/XeLYntkLNb

Lol IT'S YOU GUYS making this about "race" because in reality that's why ya'll support her so much :-) . Because of her race, sexuality and because she's good. If this was Juju Watkins ya'll wouldn't be watching or moaning about anything. Better white players than Clark have entered the league and never had any issues but Clark gets fouled a few times and all of a sudden "it's racism". So when Brianna Strewert body checked Clark was that "racism" too?? Oops she's white so that doesn't fit the narrative right?

The worst foul a rookie has received this season was Angel Reese getting hacked down by her neck and landing hard on the floor. It was so bad the other player got ejected. But ya'll act like everyone is just going after poor old Caitlin even though Aaliyah Boston is always right there ready to scrap for Clark when needed smh.

The bottom line is this whole thing has brought great publicity to the league and it's only gonna get better when Paige, Juju and Kaleena Smith enter the league in the years ahead. Asking for the league to "let Clark cook" is utter bs. If she is who ya'll say she is then her "cooking" will come naturally in time. Fullstop.

Now you wanna question her teammates?? :-) When Clark tried to bump Victoria Vivian's and Victoria went after her who got in the way and shut it down? Oh that's right Aaliyah Boston but keep acting like her teammates don't like her!!..and btw in that post game interview they were laughing together for most of it.

It is people like Jemele hill who insist that she is beloved because she’s white, straight and “pretty.” Clark has not done anything remotely racist. She is being persecuted just for existing. Jujus a wonderful player. She may not get the hype you want (yet) but ain’t a damn person persecuting her for her “privilege.”

Hard fouls happen all the time. Yeah a player like angel reese who plays inside and physical is gonna get hit back. People making excuses for this shit miss that this had NOTHING to do with basketball. It was personal. It was not a basketball play, it was someone going out of her way to throw a cheap shot. Her teammates certainly aren’t scrapping for her. Boston just ****ing stood there and coldly helped her up while angel reese celebrated her teammate like it was the Super Bowl. When clark got a tech vs Seattle Boston got heated but it was to pull clark away, it wasn’t getting into the other teams face. None of her teammates have. I think they all get along but it’s really bad body language when the league is throwing grenades at Caitlin on and off the court and her own teammates act so emotionless. That is especially the case for someone like Boston who is hyped up to be a supposedly great leader.

And yeah the league is letting this happen. Angel gets roughed up too. She also shoots almost 10 free throws per game in 10 less minutes despite way less touches, where clark in most games shoots maybe 5. That’s a woman who plays 40 minutes, is face guarded full court the entire team, is a volume player and who goes hard to the basket. That’s why angels foul led to an ejection, while Clark’s was mind numbingly called a common foul which even you know is total horseshit. That’s why Clark’s been T’ed up multiple times but the woman who calls her a bitch then shoulders her doesn’t get jackshit. That shit ain’t normal.

No-one is saying Clark has done anything racist. The issue some folks have had with the whole Clark mania is the PRIVILEGE she appears to be getting. Called the "goat" without winning a ring. First class flights from day one. 25m dollar deal from Nike without even playing a wnba game whilst the likes of Aja Wilson is a champion and mvp and got nothing. And when Dianna said "reality is coming" she was dismissed and ridiculed. These situations will put chips on shoulders and the fire has only been fueled by the likes of Charles Barkley and LeBron making irresponsible statements that further strengthen the unfounded notion that "all the players hate Clark".

It was a bad play but on a previous Fever possession after Boston scored Clark ran up in Carter's face mouthing off stuff. What was said? We don't know but it clearly was enough to get Carter riled up.

Do you know most of Clark's teammates are young too? Boston is Caitlin's age (22), Smith is one year older (23). Berger is 24 etc. The veteran Mitchell is 28 but she's a small guard. Boston has done her best to stop these confrontations but she's not an enforcer. And let's be honest hard play doesn't mean Clark is being targeted. Teams are gonna do everything they can to stop her and being physical is just part of the game.

Cameron Brink has been roughed up, so has Alliyah Edwards, Rakiah Jackson and all the other rookies. And Paige, Juju and the other stars will get it too. That's the league which is why people screaming "racism" is silly. Angel has been getting beaten up and has had to leave the court several times after being roughed up. Has Clark? Nope. So it's not a Clark "thing" it's a rookie thing at the end of the day.
