Excited about an upcoming fight? Want to make predictions, or just give people a heads-up that there are some fights on? We can do it here.

(Also a good place to complain, dicuss, and agrue about the outcomes)

68: Low kicks landed by Carlos Condit during the course of his five-round unanimous decision victory over former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz. Jackson’s Mixed Martial Arts teammate Donald Cerrone previously set the record by landing 49 low kicks against Vagner Rocha at UFC 131. Cerrone’s mark remains atop the list for a three-round fight, however, as Condit had 42 low kicks through three frames.

117: Total strikes landed by Nick Diaz, 140 less than he was able to land in his UFC 137 win over B.J. Penn, which was a three-round affair. Meanwhile, Condit landed 159 total strikes.

329: Total strikes thrown by Condit, 71 more than Diaz attempted in their 25-minute encounter.

4: Rounds where Condit landed more significant strikes than Diaz. “The Natural Born Killer” outlanded Diaz in round one (29 to 23); round three (32 to 22), round four (36 to 11) and round five (25 to 17).

12: Fights since an opponent landed more strikes than Diaz, which was also the last time the Stockton, Calif., native tasted defeat in the cage. In 2007 K.J. Noons outlanded Diaz 18 significant strikes to 13 en route to winning via doctor stoppage.

5: Combined ground strikes landed by Condit (4) and Diaz (1). Diaz earned the only takedown of the fight in the late in the bout’s fifth round, where he attempted to secure a rear-naked choke.

62: Total strikes to the head landed by Diaz on Condit, seven more than the Jackson’s MMA representative was able to land on Diaz.
Octagon control means nothing? I know it was a close fight. How you get 49-46 I'll never understand. And those leg kicks didn't do shit.

Diaz was in the center of the octagon the entire fight. Getting his ass kicked.

What is this supposed to mean? Since when is it a bad thing to be a fan? I've watched every UFC card for last 5 years. Just because I don't train fighters or fight myself I get put down by arrogant assholes like yourself.

Nevada State Athletic Commission is saying Diaz tested positive for pot.

Good grief.

So they don't drug test before a fight now?

Throw me in a cage on PCP, bet I'll smash someone.

This means that you scored the fight wrong. It's not a bad thing to be a fan. None what so ever. Just telling you like it is. Diaz didnt have octagon control. Condit went wherever he wanted to.

Diaz tested positive for pot, eh? Shocker! No wonder Gracie said yesterday that the rematch was not going to happen.

Yeah, was pretty clear something was up when everybody was gung-ho for it in the morning, and then there was silence in the afternoon.

However, for a second suspension in the state, the usual term would be one year. Diaz was suspended in Nevada in 2007 for marijuana after his win over Takanori Gomi, which was overturned and ruled a no contest.

The commission will rule on it soon at a hearing, first on 2/22, as far as a suspension and then a final decision is likely at a subsequent hearing, which would be at a future commission meeting, most likely in April.

The suspension will not necessarily be the one year time frame, but that is the usual guidelines for a second time offender.

Exactly. I meant he's a Diaz fanboy. I watched that fight 3 times. I have nothing against Diaz or for Condit. I am neutral on both guys. And to me, Condit won that fight. Was it a good close fight? Yes. But it wasn't so close that Diaz got robbed. To me Condit clearly started gaining momentum in about round 3. The ONLY reason I gave round 5 to Diaz was because of the takedown. If not for that, Condit wins that round too IMO.

The fight metrics were for Condit in every area.

My guess is you're a Diaz fan.

He just doesn't care. Or at least that's how it seems, he talks about how he hates fighting and he's quitting, I suppose he'll get a nice vacation now. Hopefully he'll get his shit together because even if he's a goof he's a hell of a fighter.

Yeah. I like the Diaz brothers. Less now that I realized Nick is an idiot first with the cheapshot in strikeforce and now the failed drug test. And you are right about the fight I just don't much care for counter strikers who are constantly running away.

Say what you want about White, but I love it when someone admits they screwed up.
