Nzoner's Game Room>Space Exploration megathread
DaFace 09:40 AM 06-01-2014
Since a number of cool things are happening in space exploration these days, we'll widen the scope of this thread a smidge. Conversation about all things space exploration are welcome, whether it be from NASA, SpaceX, ULA, Blue Origin, or anyone else. Chances are most of the discussion will still be about SpaceX since they love to make things public and fun, but nothing's off limits. I'll eventually get around to modifying the OP to include resources for other companies too, but in the meantime, feel free to post any cool stuff you run across.

Well, this sucks. I feel like I have to watch a FH launch, but I may have to go to sleep and set an alarm.

Targeting T-0 of 2:30 a.m. EDT for Falcon Heavy launch of STP-2; team completed additional ground system checkouts. Vehicle and payload continue to look good

PBS is airing a Summer of Space lineup that includes several different programs tied into Apollo 11. The one I'm looking forward to the most is a 6 hour documentary/movie called Chasing the Moon starting July 8th. It's made by the American Experience folks.

I was 9 at the time and everyone was glued to their tv sets.

Aww...center core go boom. Looks like it may have diverted - it was quite a ways off the ship.

Yeah, that was weird. The long-range camera made it look like something really wonky happened, but the on-board cameras seemed pretty normal. I'll be curious to see if there's an explanation.
