Glad to hear you landed what sounds like a good spot.:-) [Reply]
I've participated in a shamefully deficient amount of hunting the past year or two. I had cams out planning to bow hunt and work Andy life got in the way. I did shoot a buck that might go 145-150ish during shotgun.
Other than that, I've pelted a couple of yotes and other undesirables.
I'm kind of itching for a pig hunt. Someday I need to use some of my pile of banked up vacation and go do something cool. [Reply]
Went all out yesterday and bought a .22 Ruger 10/22 I am looking for a decent scope and the market is crowded with every goofy bolt on you can call tactical. Good night!! I have an ancient weaver 1X4 on an old 22...does anyone even make a quality rimfire option that isnt stupid hooked up with bells and whistles? [Reply]

I waited 30mins before I got down out of my stand, found he arrow and commenced to trailing her, knowing that I had a good shot on her I fully expected to go over the next hill and drag her out, but NO, she slowly walked and walked, crossed a river (with just enough water to come over the top of my boots), up a 12 foot bank, through more junk, down into a muddy creek bed....then we lost the trail after tracking her for 3 hours! I went back this morning, found last blood and began tracking again...she climbed in and out of a 15 foot bank two more times and I finally found her 80 yds from where we stopped looking...coyotes had a feast. I was disappointed and my buddies said that is just part of hunting but I dont feel right about it. I know that I did all I could to take this game properly but luck wasnt on my side this time.
