No way the NFL is going to allow Caleb to choose his team. If that happens, more will follow. Then you'd have an unbalanced league. Plus, the NFL doesn't need Caleb. the NFL has plenty of young QB's that the public are interested in seeing.
The NFL has gotten so huge and powerful that even an Elway level player in
2024 is not going to be allowed to chose a team. It would be bad for the shield.
Raiders and him want each other, trade up and pay the price.
Don't the Raiders pick at #13? If he's going #1, trading up will cost them a ton. I looked up a draft chart and it says #13 is 1150 points while #1 is 3000 points. Sounds like a deal that Kevin Costner would negotiate. It would be easier to trade up from #32 to #13 than from #13 to #1. [Reply]

Williams doesn't have to be Mahomes to be worthy of the #1 pick but I have my doubts that he is ever a legit top 10 QB.
If he was 6"3 with that same arm and feet, I'd like his chances a lot more.
Brees, Russell Wilson, and to a certain extent, Kyler. That's basically it in the modern era.
I've been talking about his lack of height in all the threads devoted to him. I'm just not seeing what all the hype is about. Sure he can rack up stats against mediocre teams and make some off-platform throws - but being compared to Mahomes? Not seeing that at all. [Reply]
