Nzoner's Game Room>Pacheco fractured his Fibula
Sassy Squatch 07:27 AM 09-16-2024

#Chiefs star RB Isiah Pacheco, who left the stadium in a walking boot and crutches, fractured his fibula based on initial tests, sources say.

More information coming to determine severity and associated damage, but Pacheco is set to miss real time. pic.twitter.com/9xA4hOsMyE

Again, when I broke my fibula I did have to have surgery, but it was on my ankle. When they went in there and put in the hardware to stabilize my ankle, that ended up being what held the fibula in place and it healed just fine.

They say no ligament issues - so what's the surgery for?
Align the fibula if there was displacement, happens when break is a bit higher up the leg , no ligament issues up there but plate and few screws to avoid nonunion and speed up healing .think ski boot fracture .

Your break was lateral malleolus which forms the shallow cup that holds the talus which stabilize the joint .

Also sometimes they do surgery on pro athletes they would not do on the average person , they don’t even operate achilles tears unless your an elite athlete up here .

Could be a blessing in disguise guys.

Pop will be FRESH late in the year when most running backs will have taken a beating. Then we'll get some time with Steele to learn the ropes better and get Perine gets more acclimated to the offense.

I know it sucks NOWWWW but come December time and Pop is fresh that'll be nice.

Only one leg.

His other leg would still be much slower than me.

He’ll probably just end up running in a circle.

Sir, I’m not here to be reasonable.

I’m here to freak the fuck out.

And his third leg would be written about in ladies restrooms across the nation.

Pacheco is a violent runner so injuries will happen but I think he's pretty durable. What happened was unfortunate but I wouldn't let it hold back from using him a decent amount in the future.

I agree. He was a young kid, he made a mistake. He lied to his employer but who hasn't at some point in their life?

I don't think they'll bring him back but I don't get the whole 'he's a shit human being,' statement.
Thanks for your comments.

I'd presumed another 3-4 weeks from now.

He looks like he's moving well (walking) in the video.

Week 8 will be six weeks from injury, which was the low end.

I’d say he’s back for Buffalo.

After he comes back and hits his stride, it would be really nice to give Hunt a few weeks of 5 and fewer carries. Sorta like a simulated bye week.

We need both to have fresh legs for the postseason.

So who is gonna be the starter when he comes back? It’s a good trouble to have, but I see Hunt looking like his old self out there. Either way, having both of those guys in the backfield is going to be a nightmare for teams to defend.

Anytime we're ahead of the sticks, I'd consider a Hunt carry even after Pacheco returns.

2nd and 5? 3rd and 2?

I'm giving both of those carries to Kareem.

I'm having him in for any play inside the Gold Zone. He's too good in pass pro to take out on passing plays in those tight spaces and too good at short-yardage running to put Pacheco in there instead of him.

You could dial it down to 10-12 touches/gm for him and have all dozen of those touches be REALLY impactful.
