Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

I don't buy into the whole tape thing. Teams have years of tape on Brady, that does mean they can stop him. Mahomes is doing the same thing he has done since he picked up a football. Just because you have him on tape running all over and making amazing throws, does not mean defenses will magically shut him down.
Chiefs defense was terrible in time of possession. Mahomes and the offense should get several more opportunities to score every game this year. [Reply]

yeah, I’m not buying this “tape” scenario either. Just because you know what he does now doesn’t mean you can stop it. He’s not some one dimensional QB. He can improvise. How are you supposed to plan against that? [Reply]

Belichick couldn’t stop him from scoring 31 in a half.. [Reply]

Tape exposes one trick ponies.
Mahomes is not that.
Pretty much the only thing tape takes away is the weird looks Reid provides.
And maybe don’t stop covering when the play breaks down. [Reply]
Andy’s offensive innovation and Mahomes’ ability to create on his own when said play designs don’t work may wind up being one of the greatest combos in the history of the sport.

He's the best in NFL history at buying time and creating plays.
...and making defenses cover the entire field. There’s almost nowhere he won’t try to throw to if a guy is open. His throws back across the field, the 4 and 9 against the ravens, the TD to Conley against the 49ers. Those are prime examples of buying time and the putting the ball where no one reasonably expects it to go. Oh, and that rope a dope TD to DRob in the last game against the Chargers was ridiculous. I’ve never seen a QB fake the DBs out so badly. They had no idea what he was actually going to do. That moment of hesitation is all he needs. [Reply]
