More to come!

Rashee Rice | WR | SMU

One of the best WR prospects at the catch point and winning leverage mid-route. He consistently sets up defenders to put them on his back, locates the ball, and attacks it at the highest point.

Skill set is wild for a 6' 200lb WR. pic.twitter.com/ClxW4SJvi5

Rashee Rice was drafted with pick 55 of round 2 in the 2023 draft class. He scored a 9.53 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 145 out of 3062 WR from 1987 to 2023. https://t.co/lwD9tvVPvv pic.twitter.com/YjucxErSE1

We can get a swiss army knife who can do work in the intermediate zones while at least having the option to stretch the field. I want a guy who can handle all coverages with full route tree. Get us a ridley or aiyuk prototype then offer a speed option on the other side.

Ridley is fine, but I ain't paying what he's gonna cost. Keep drafting and developing if you aren't gonna go get real good guys that aren't old.

I'll say what I said the day we drafted him, I just cannot for the life of me understand how anyone didn't like this pick. It just seemed so obviously perfect from the moment it was made.
I did not like the pick because of his size. I have looked for the interview, but can't find it. Mahomes said he has always wanted a tall 6'4"+ receiver who could go up and get jump balls. In the interview he says he has never really played with that type of receiver, in high school, college, or the NFL.

If it wasn't going to be Flowers, I wanted a taller receiver. I thought Rice was a much better pick than Moore, but I still just want a taller receiver. (not Ross. That experiment is probably never paying off) I also wanted Johnston, and who knows how he would have performed with Reid and Mahomes. I mean, the Chargers took a TD machine in Ekeler and turned him into a scrub this year, so maybe Johnston can't be judged by their offense this year.

Can you imagine if Mahomes had a guy like Mike Williams (a healthy Mike Williams) who seems to catch every jump ball or contested pass? That would be very valuable to this team.

Unless the player is blazing fast, or is a very obvious pick, I am sick of receivers 6' and under. I know Rice is listed at 6'1" but when he stands next to Mahomes, he sure doesn't look like it, if Mahomes is actually 6'2" then Rice is maybe, maybe 6'

I am a huge Rice fan now. But, I still want a big receiver. A tall, actual NFL caliber receiver, who actually plays tall. MVS is listed at 6'4" but he is the smallest 6'4" receiver I have ever seen. Nothing about his game has anything to do with his size.

Mahomes doesn't throw those go up and get them jump balls though. Get guys that get separation.

What's wild is that in his first year, by the end of the season he's doing this veteran shit and we got guys like MVS and Mooore who never ever showed an ounce of this.
He actually settled into the zone really nicely on his 1st TD here. I was like "holy shit we've never seen anything like that from Skyy"!

Yup.

Big, jump ball receivers are just not what he's gonna take full advantage of.

Guys that are great YAC players, smart in reading coverage and who can get early separation - that's what work in this offense and with this QB. And obviously we need a downfield threat somewhere - we know this. That's why we signed MVS and why we keep playing him.

So look for a fast WR in the draft this year to replace MVS.

Fellas - watch that college football championship closely because I still think we're looking at Jalen McMillan...

I still fantasize about Mike Evans and Mahomes

You know who gets great separation......and is a great YAC player?

There's one guy in Miami but that ship has sailed, the other though......would be a realllll pair with Rice.

They aren’t going to trade for Aiyuk.

Not that it wouldn’t be fun.

Loved watching him but I really noticed Adonai Mitchell as well. Man that guy is really good

His 4 catches for 35 yards really tickle your fancy huh?:-)

Obviously, anything can happen…but I think with them only having 5 picks (likely to get at least one comp to make it 6 picks) …limited cap space… a lot of guys hitting FA they would like to keep, I’m not sure that kind of a swing would get them the return they want. I could definitely be wrong.

We would realistically be sending SF our first or a couple 2s and then being in a position we need him to get extended quickly because the tag #$ for WRs is around 21m.

I completely agree that he would help make this offense dynamic…

But for those resources, would you get better return by signing a Evans or Lockette short term while coming back and drafting a WR in the first 2 rounds. That probably gets us a top 5-7 WR (in a very very strong class) and lets us have another pick at our disposal, as well.

He’s been underutilized his whole college career.

He’s 6-4 and high points and runs really clean routes and creates much more separation than you’d expect given his size.

He’d be a nice complement to Rice, especially if you add a super speedy Z guy and can send that guy screaming downfield with Mitchell running the stuff off of the defense’s reaction to the Z.
