Mahomes has talked about the trust he has in his receivers before. He's flat out said that if he sees the DB's nameplate and his target is looking at him, that's an open man.
That's a picture perfect example. Kelce was looking, the DB wasn't. As far as Mahomes is concerned that's open because he's confident that Kelce will catch it or at the very worst break it up. [Reply]

that opposite hash bullshit is the same throw mahomes made against the rams...only this time he couldn't step into it, so it was only a 25 yard throw instead of 35

Madden tried that vision cone thing precisely because they realized that shit like that was too unrealistic. No, of course a QB can't just scan the entire field all at once and throw it equally accurate to either side. Madden players, you're gonna have to at least direct his eyes that direction to make it fair for the defenses.
Mahomes is a living, breathing, Madden glitch. [Reply]
I wondered about this play before, but seeing this angle, I have to think this was just a lucky miss. Kelce was open crossing the field, the CB on the outside has his back turned - no reason not to lead Kelce on the throw. That said, hard to see PMII missing by THAT much - confusing play. [Reply]

I "did this stuff" for SB Nation for the last seven years.
I've had interviews with ESPN, WatchStadium and NOLA.com/AdvanceLocal since I got laid off in February and no bites.
Media industry hiring is hot garbage right now. Probably around 20 of the people that I worked with for almost a decade got laid off this year. None of them deserved it.
The current model is "don't pay anyone what they're worth and exploit as much cheap, young labor as possible."
I did get the VP of content for a large sports vertical ask me to make him something for free on Sunday during the game though, so that's cool! I enjoy working for free. Maybe I should just do that and start a gofundme to pay the bills. [Reply]

Do you have a patreon for Red Tribe? Apologies if that's an obvious yes. [Reply]
