Nzoner's Game Room>50 Beers to Try Before You Die
NewChief 06:18 AM 04-24-2010
Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).

(CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"?

How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

Lukas Liquor had 100 cases of Chocolate Ale delivered this morning and they're out, along with Gomers and others.... stupid Bud Light drinking assholes who want craft beer once a year. :-)

Picked up a couple bottles of Rye on Rye two days ago. Gotta go back to grab two more and encourage friends to do the same so the Chocolate Ale shows up down here at the end of the month.

I can't wait to have the ability to drink Chocolate Ale for months upon months in Tuscaloosa like I did two years ago when it was last brewed. And by "ability to drink" I mean "decline the option to drink."

I've never had the Chocolate Ale. It doesn't sound enjoyable to me in the least. I'd probably try it if I had the option, but it's nothing I'll go out seeking.

I liked it. I don't get the hype it gets in KC though. It's not even close to being Boulevard's best beer.

It was on tap at a bar down here for like 4 months after it ran out in KC. I probably drank most of that keg.

It's surprisingly enjoyable. I worried about the chocolate and ale combination when I ordered my first one. It's not what a lot of people hype it up to be, but it's worth trying.

I've had some chocolate stouts that are very nice.

I like Chocolate Ale, but I only ever want it once and then I'm good for the year. It's really unique: an imperial amber ale with tons of real chocolate flavor and aroma.

Picked up two bottles at HyVee in Raytown. Doesn't seem like they're anywhere close to being out. It's not the best beer they brew and not worth waiting in line for that previoius years had. But it's a good beer.

The other night I went out for a late dinner after the gym and the pub I was at had Fat Cat IPA on special. It was very good-not too heavy or strong but a nice flavor.

First time I ever saw it or offered so I figured to give it a shot. Glad I did.

It's the craft beer for the masses... Boulevard fans + Elbow fans + beer that says Chocolate on it a week before Valentine's Day.

I've actually never had a good one... got some bad batch a couple of years ago. I don't see how it could be significantly better than say Sam Smith Organic Chocolate Stout, and I can get that year round without any dumb limits or waiting in line.

Well the fact that it has the chocolate flavor and isn't a stout is what makes it interesting/good.

It is better. It's not an incredible beer I want to drink all the time but it's pretty delicious. There's a legitimate reason for the hype. People wouldn't go stupid over crap.

Anyone who says it isn't delicious has never had it or is just being a hater
