Mahomes has clearly played his worst season of football since he's been a Chief. It's true. Doesn't mean he's played like shit (only compared to his lofty standards). Just not as the best QB in the league. He's still playing at a Top 5 or 7 QB at the very least. [Reply]

His QBR this year is higher than it was in 2023 or 2021 (and that is with his two best WRs being hurt for almost the entire season).

So no, it's not true at all.
He blatantly missed Kelce in the end zone today for the game winning TD. Again, not playing bad but he hasn't been vintage Patrick Mahomes. It's ok to say it. It is an observation. Obviously nobody else we would rather have. [Reply]

Making one bad throw doesn't mean this is the worst season of his career. The stats tell us it isn't. [Reply]

Still you put yourself in that position. Its lucky. You can't count on your special teams to block a 35 yard kick very often. That's not winning football in the long run. But these games happen. 9-0. The Chiefs are going to have a worst game and so far today was it. [Reply]

I think 2021 was probably worse. He had Tyreek Hill and a younger Kelce. Orlando Brown was better than Wanya & Kingsley at LT. Struggled for a huge chunk of that 2021 season. These are Patrick's ESPN QBR grades lately:
Regular Season
2021 - #5 in league at 67.7
2022 - #1 in league at 79.0
2023 - #8 in league at 63.9
2024 - #6 in league at 69.2
Playoff Games
2021 - #2 in league at 82.6
2022 - #2 in league at 84.0
2023 - #1 in league at 86.9 [Reply]
I don't know what vault Toub pulled that play from, but I think we had eleven guys converging on their holder. Everyone blew by their blockers. [Reply]

Chenal and Karlaftis instantly put their LT on his ass. He probably should have tried to grab one of them. [Reply]
