Yup. Whitey and George famously went to the Chiefs game together. And when the game was finished, they walked across the parking lot to then Royals Stadium, got on the elevator to the clubhouses, and then parted ways as one team got ready for game 7, while the other team didn’t bother to show up. While reading the article it stated “Crawford, 36, blah blah”.
I cannot believe that MF’er is 36. 10 years ago the threat of his arm is the only thing that kept Alex Gordon from tying game 7 when Gregor Blanco and Travis Ishakawa played Benny Hill in the outfield.
Of the 25 worst reliever ERAs since the All-Star break, the Royals have three of them - Angel Zerpa (8.38), James McArthur (7.15), and Will Smith (6.52).
