Like, how genuinely stupid is this narrative that Remigio isn't getting a chance because the Chiefs are overly attached to Moore.

They're fucking DESPERATE for skill position help. They've brought back JJSS, Hunt, and Fortson so far. If he'd shown ANYTHING in camp or practice he'd be taking snaps on offense. But he isn't. Because he sucks and his ceiling is practice squad fodder.

Just because it worked out last year, doesn’t mean we should go down that route again if you can go without it

Like him or not, on paper, he's exactly what they need. The injury concerns are valid, but as a WR, Hopkins is still among the best in the league at route running, reading defenses, beating press/man or zone, playing either inside/outside, making sight adjustments, winning at the catchpoint, scramble drill, even defending INTs when the QB throws a bad ball, oh, and maybe most importantly, catching the damned ball.

This.

To think that the path to last year’s Super Bowl is replicable… i.e. going 16 straight possessions in the playoffs without scoring… not realistic.

With this defense they can (assuming no other major injuries occur). But we need to trade for a WR and not rely on that path

The chiefs made the decision to keep skyy when they had a chance all offseason to cut him. Even after a horrendous year Reid talked about having big plans for him and how they just need to get him going. This has everything to do with overattachment. I think it's more telling that we’re desperate for WR help and yet we continue to insist on rostering and playing meaningful minutes in all kinds of roles to a guy who contributes nothing, meaning every one else on the field has to contribute just a little bit more.

I think there’s something to be said right now about considering guys who can play out of structure. Since we know a structure guy might take a little longer to settle into a Reid offense. He’s not my top target but I wouldn’t hate it.

Sounds like most agree with trading for Johnson.

Also, sounds like most here would trade a third for it.

Really though, there isn’t likely much difference between our second and that Titans third. You could probably give that second but get back like a fifth.

That is the question of the day…

that's the crux right there. "assuming" the defense stays healthy. We lucked out last season and they mostly did, particularly with CJ, who got a little dinged up, but managed to stay healthy for the playoffs.

But the injury gods are a fickle bunch. If we lose CJ/Bolton/McDuffie to injury, or any combo that includes one or two of them, this defense will not be able to maintain this level of performance. And when we start giving up more than 26 pts/gm, or get worse in the RZ or whatever, then what? Are we going to be good with Pat having to run for TDs/1st downs in every game, like Allen/Lamar?

It might work in 2024, I grant that. But just as it will for Allen/Lamar, it will take its toll. There is always a price to pay when your QB starts running 5+ times/game. And no, we aren't there yet, or I don't think we are (pretty sure Pat only ran maybe 3 times last night), but if he doesn't get some reliable targets soon, that number will rise.

The bottom line here is that everyone seems to be assuming that the defense will be exactly the same for the entire rest of the season. But what if reality sets in and it doesn't?

More than likely they already made the call to Carolina to check DJ’s availability. With Juju being hurt you can bet the price just went up now.

I keep saying it but Jalin Hyatt makes the most sense to me. Once again zero targets yesterday and Jones got benched.
If I'm reading it correctly, not 100% sure what the "Option Bonus" is, but he could have the best contract in football for a trading team as the Browns HEAVLY paid him in Bonus money.

ROS: About $600k
2025: $1.5M
2026: $1.5M
2027: $1.5M

Problem is the Browns don't save money until 2027.....So they would need to REALLY be hoarding draft picks to send Jeudy out in a trade.

Welp

Adam Schefter talking about the #Chiefs making a trade for a WR before the deadline on @PatMcAfeeShow.

He mentions Demarcus Robinson and DeAndre Hopkins as potential options.@FourGuysInABar @TalkPrimeTime @BowTieSports_18 @ChiefsInsider pic.twitter.com/Fr8wIJpuXy

It's very whelming to read names like Robinson and Hopkins but at this point we do gotta have a starter-caliber body which they both are.
