OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Shula and Miami DOMINATED the AFC from 1970-1985

They were one of the winningest teams. Back then it was Raiders, Steelers, Dolphins running the show in the AFC. Shula coached for a long time, and the team started to fall off. He was old. I think a similar thing happened to Landry, coached for 30 years then everything went to crap

Jerry Jones was aggressive and fired Landry, wound up winning 3 SB with Aikman and the 90s Dallas dynasty. The Dolphins just let Shula stay forever

Marino was also a pretty boy douche and an absolute pick machine. Like, the dude had several 20+ INT seasons. Mahomes is neither.

He sure did. But back then that wasn’t too uncommon because of the style of play.

From 84-86, his TD/INT was 48/17, 30/21, 44/23

For example, in 1986 (44TD 23INT) his INT% was 3.7, good for 16th in the NFL

In 2018, Mahomes’ is 2.1, good for 16th in the NFL...

Aaron Rodgers is the only QB I can think of that can make a string of plays like this. This talent is absurd.

This is ridiculous. pic.twitter.com/ruIZSZ4bTy

The throws Mahomes made to get the Chiefs into FG position at the end of regulation were absurd. Look at this first one to Ware. Window basically doesn't exist. pic.twitter.com/Dnwzxebn7E

Then there's this throw to Robinson deep. Chaos at the LOS and he leads Robinson in front of his defender but not too far to keep the S from having a shot at a play. Crazy stuff. pic.twitter.com/bhLpTYhkqx

Now imagine how Arrowhead would have been if he hits that to Hill for a TD to end the game. FUCK.

I’d bet the farm that Mahomes’ career accomplishments are closer to Brady than Marino when it’s all said and done.

No, I don’t think he will win 5+ SBs. I don’t think anyone will. That happens when you have the GOAT of coaches at your side.

But I think Mahomes wins multiple SBs. He’s the total package. Nearly flawless by most measures of what you look for in a franchise QB.

All I can think of while watching those cut-downs is how freaking awful the o-line is.

If you’re making me predict things, I think KC wins it all in either 2019 or 2020, and from there Mahomes wins 1-2 more SBs. That’s my logistical gut feeling.

He amazes me.

I watched this interview and thought to myself, Carr is challenging Stephen A Smith to an octagon fight and then there’s Mahomes.

All around great guy and humble. Thrilled that he’s a Chief.

I remember Romo's comments about that 1st throw, on how Mahomes held onto the ball to ensure the defender coming in, cleared a window where the ball couldn't be knocked down. Mahomes took a huge hit.

On the 2nd throw, someone asked the receiver in front why he didn't try to snag the pass. His reply was along the lines of "Well we are so used to Mahomes throwing into small windows, that if it isn't right on you, it's going to someone else." Nuts

Mahomes was not going to let us lose that game.

He just didn't get a chance in OT.

I was already on the verge of passing out. That would've flat-lined me.
