Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

I get it, it's technically two firsts, but it's for a higher first, so they kept one first and made it better/higher.
Yeah I've never understood that either. The Chiefs gave up a 3rd & next year's 1st to move up to get Mahomes.

Good point.
Alex got a lot of offensive coordinators fired.
I think the only time he didn't was when his head coach was the guy calling plays! :-) [Reply]

We traded up in the first round at the cost of a 1st and a 3rd and picked a QB.
It's the same thing.
The wording "chiefs trade two firsts" makes it sound like they didn't have a first to begin with. It's all over the media print and TV. Often used when criticizing the trade. [Reply]

Who gives a shit? They spent 2 firsts and a 3rd on him either way you look at it. [Reply]
I sincerely didn't even think about it until he posted that.
Honestly I think bad coaching ruined Alex Smith and it's a miracle that he managed to even stay in the NFL as badly as he was mismanaged as a young QB.
He is what he is. It's a miracle he didn't flame out, but bad coaches benching him every time he threw an interception shaped who he became. Not fucking up became more important than making plays. [Reply]

They did though. They traded their first this year and next (and a 3rd) for buffalo's first this year. [Reply]
