Year Two of the Matt Quatraro tenure. Time to take a step up this year. Active in free agency and trades this offseason. A new look pitching rotation and bullpen. Will the young players take the leap up offensively? Bobby Witt extension? New stadium? Will Vinny recover from injury? Salvy taking aim at the Royals record book? Will Cole Ragans turn into the best Royals starting pitcher since Greinke 1.0?

Michael Wacha, SP
Kyle Wright, SP
Hunter Renfroe, OF/DH

In other news... did anyone read this article on espn.com? A possible 6 inning mandate for starting pitchers? WAT?

lots of "injuries" to get a starter out earlier than 6 innings.

On this date in 1980, in a hot AF Royals Stadium, George Brett went 4-4 to raise his batting average to.401.

I checked back a few pages and I didn't see any mention about Washington Park being a possibility of a downtown stadium.

Ah, that would explain why I didn't see it, as I was thinking it would be in this mega-thread.

Thanks.

I was at that game. It was an amazing environment and a fantastic experience for me. I wasn't quite ten years old at the time, but I was a huge baseball fan and understood the magnitude of what he was doing even then.

Brett owned Jim Clancy throughout his career. Wore Clancy out. Over .400 for sure.

So me personally I would love a downtown stadium but the owners make so much money on parking. Have to imagine they won't make near as much on parking when they go downtown. Why do they want it so much? I imagine simply because it would increase the value of the franchise I guess.

We have the second toughest remaining schedule. If they make the playoffs, I feel like that bodes well for the chances for success.

The county is the one that makes money on parking currently

White Sox officially eliminated from postseason play. Maybe now they can finally relax without having to worry about winning the pennant. I know that's had to be hanging over their collective heads for some time now...

Great series. Need to take care of business vs the Angels and fatten up our win coffers by this weekend.
