It's a different song the way he does it. The lyrics hit in a different way, which is one of the things I look for in a cover. Here's another that's closer to the original:

The music industry sure has changed. This young lady is under contract with Jonas Entertainment Group and has a record deal, all from this video (mostly). She has a great voice and is cute which accounts for a lot these days. As a side note it appears she's just singing in her bedroom or somewhere, but the audio is professionally done.
