Creating a new thread for soccer discussion since the Euro’s are done.
Most leagues are in preseason and Sporting KC are currently in a battle for the best record in the league to win the shield. We just sent Busio who’s a young Sporting youth academy player and possible future American star to Venezia to compete in the top division in Italy for a 6.5 million dollar transfer fee with up to $11 million with incentives and a 20% future sell-on rate if they sell him to another team. Not to mention another past youth academy player from Lee’s Summit and another possible World Cup starter Erik Palmer-Brown looks to be joining him at Venezia soon as well. If you’re looking for an Italian team to start rooting for with your new Paramount+ subscription they would be a good candidate with some local flavor.
The U.S has built a little power shift in the CONCACAF region with their wins over Mexico lately in Nations and Gold Cup finals and look to be in really good shape heading into the World Cup qualifiers next month.
Messi looks to be on the move as well. Let’s hope it’s not a worthless one to PSG for everyone’s sake.
Ok, CP feel free to remind me how gay soccer is now. Don’t care. Sporting is kicking ass and so is the USA. It’s a good time to be following along. Discuss…

I watched a 60 minutes segment on that, and that’s exactly what the host was saying, between soccer, WWE, LIV, etc. He interviews their Sports Minister (??) and the guy dodged every question with canned responses about wanting to bring sports to KSA lol [Reply]

Yep, apparently they also wanted to buy Formula 1 (for $20b or something) but Liberty Media weren't interested in selling. Which makes sense with how much the sport is growing in the US. [Reply]

Another one of Womble’s soccer takes ages like a wet fart again. :-) Has there been a coach that’s had a worse season than Tuchel. He turned one team into the joke of England this season and took a Bayern team with hopes of a treble at the time of his hiring to likely ending the season without any hardware for the first time in who knows how long. Let’s hope Borussia doesn’t **** it up next week and can close this out! [Reply]
Was in Saint Louis this weekend and holy lord do they love their pro soccer team. Gear and logos everywhere I looked. People talking about the team at parties and hooking up Apple TV so they could have the broadcast on. It was something. [Reply]
Also, I tried adopting Sporting KC fanhood for the evening since I was the "KC" guy at the party and they were the big game being played. It did not go well. [Reply]

One more! Get it done Borussia so the world can all point and laugh at Bayern and Tuchel! Lots of great soccer action today with the Bundesliga race finishing up and the richest game in soccer that could see the tiny Luton Town promoted into the Premier League. Anyone following Wrexham’s story will love Luton Towns similar path as well. Hope they can pull it off today! [Reply]
Mainz came out and punched Borussia right in the mouth with 2 early goals. Borussia has to win to win the Bundesliga and end Bayern’s 10 year reign. Reyna came on and has given them extra life and an assist to bring them to needing 2 goals or a Cologne goal to die Bayern in the last 20 minutes of the season. These last 20 minutes make the whole year of ESPN+ worth it. [Reply]
Bayern get the goal back and take full control with just minutes left. It’s gonna take a miracle now. What an emotional rollercoaster for the yellow wall today. [Reply]
