What concerns me a bit is that there's surgery at all.
Again, when I broke my fibula I did have to have surgery, but it was on my ankle. When they went in there and put in the hardware to stabilize my ankle, that ended up being what held the fibula in place and it healed just fine.
They say no ligament issues - so what's the surgery for? [Reply]

Mine was a tight-rope to deal with the ligament damage.

I fractured my proximal fibula and they gave me motrin and said go back to work when you can deal with the pain. A distal break disrupts the stability of the ankle but if the ligaments are good as stated, that's probably the best you could hope for. [Reply]
